Xavier lost to host Vanderbilt 11-0 yesterday. Musketeers face Clemson today in an elimination game.

There were a couple of major upsets as both #1 regional seeded hosts Florida and Florida State lost yesterday (to Charleston and Florida Southern).

Ok, time to regroup. Clemson has to be de-moralized after the spanking Oregon gave them, 18-1. Obviously you need to get more than 4 hits today. Who is pitching for X today? I'm not sure if Clemson threw their Ace or not yesterday. Sometimes the Ace is saved for the second game, as the outcome of the first game is problematic and some teams want to save their #1 for a 'more sure' W.

As I said in an earlier post, one win in Nashville should be considered a success, given the competition. Today is the day for that W.

We definitely need a big time upgrade to the league if this is our expectation.

Nice hitting by Daniel Rizzie who doubled and drove in a pair of runs. This was Xavier second NCAA baseball tournament victory in program history.

Wow, tough one to lose. Up by 5 with two innings to go and then dropping it in 10. Not a bad showing X.

Stanford won today on a walkoff HR at Vandy to force a third game after they hit a walkoff HR to beat Indiana last week and win the regional. Living here I have come to really enjoy college baseball and wish it could get more of a following nationally.
