That's pretty much it for Xavier, save a big run in the BET. Now they can ruin St. John's season on Saturday. Four bids is still most likely, but three, and even the disaster scenario of two  is still on the table.

Hoyas need to take care of business, but the path to a sole 3rd place finish is now there.

With the way the league is and the bubble in general, 3rd place (solely) might be the difference when trying to choose between several BE teams on the bubble. I mean double round robin don't lie. If G'town can claw their way to 10-8 and everyone around them is 9-9, 8-10 it's got to make some impression on the committee, no? I just can't see any scenario where a top 5 conference only gets 2 bids. I think we get a 3rd just out of respect. And who knows if a couple of teams can make runs in the BET. Maybe we steal a bid this year from other conferences.

If Georgetown can make it to 10-8, they probably get in, but what makes you think in this crazy year, that they won't lose the next two, especially with both on the road, and one at Marquette? Seton Hall has a monumental task in front of it, but at least the door is open. St. John's needs one more win. If none of these things happens, two bids will definitely be on the table unless someone makes a run in the BET. It's Murphy's Law in action, BE style!

It's guaranteed that 9 of us will finish at 500 or better overal cuz Creighton (NET of 49...!!!) still has to play DePaul. And the 10th needs only 1 win out of 3 to finish at 500. When if ever have all 10 teams in a conference finished at 500 or better? Our last place team(s) may finish with 7 freakin wins. This is unprecedented. All of us 500 and better with great non-conference SOS's.

St John's plays Xavier, meaning at least one of them will finish at 500. Seton Hall still has 2 shots at another great win or two vs Villanova and Marquette. Plus we all have wins to potentially pick up in the Garden.

And yadda yadda yadda...

Anyway, having said all that, i think we'll get 4 bids. I can't see us getting penalized due to our balance and competitiveness and again, the fact that all of us will be at 500 or better.

I'm thinking i agree with Jet, that the BET semifinalists will get NCAA bids.

once again, conferences don't get teams in. teams get themselves in....

lets do something. lets look worst case scenario(which means what will probably happen this season with how it's gone).
Wednesday
Marquette over Seton Hall (Marquette 57% KP favorite)
DePaul over Georgetown (DePaul 54% KP Favorite)
Providence over Creighton? (Creighton 74% KP Favorite)- upset

Saturday
Butler over Providence(Providence 55% KP favorite)- upset
Creighton over DePaul(Creighton 80% KP Favorite)
Marquette over Georgetown(Marquette 83% KP favorite)
Xavier over St John's(Xavier 60% KP favorite)
Villanova over Seton Hall(Nova 56% KP favorite)

ok final standings look like with just 2 upsets...…
Nova 14-4 23-8
Marq 14-4 25-6
Xavier 9-9 17-14
St John's 8-10 20-11
Creighton 8-10 16-14
Butler 8-10 17-14
Georgetown 8-10 18-13
DePaul 7-11 15-14
Providence 7-11 17-14
Seton Hall 7-11 16-14

we have in BET
Seton Hall over Georgetown(finishes 18-14)
Providence over DePaul(finishes 15-15)
Nova over Providence(finishes 18-15)
Creighton over St John's(finishes 20-12)
Marquette over Seton Hall(finishes 17-15)
Xavier over Butler(finishes 17-15)
Nova over Creighton(finishes 17-15)
Marquette over Xavier(finishes 18-15)

then Nova/Marquette really doesn't matter much for getting teams in.

who outside of Nova and Marquette would go then?

Would be kind of fun if XU and Butler met at MSG in the NIT final four.
