Can't blame em. I too fell asleep around that time.

Wish I’d have watched it. Crazy note:
The game was the earliest matchup by date between AP top-five teams at a campus site in the history of the poll that began in 1948-49, according to ESPN Stats & Info
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

I found it hard to believe that UCLA had only 2 fouls called in the second half with a minute left in the game. With Nova's one on one post ups, it's just hard to believe more fouls weren't called on the Bruins. Going into the last minute the foul discrepancy was 9-2. Nova lost the game because of poor shooting in the last 7 minutes and in overtime, but still...!

it was like we transported back 10 years ago to how refs called the game. Wasn't quite no blood no foul, but it wasn't close to how games are called normally. Jay Bilas said for both sides numerous times that's a foul.

Respectfully disagree with Parrish on this statement, in this instance.

.
Villanova may have lost to UCLA, but the Wildcats showed they are a top-five team -

Gary Parrish, CBS Sports – November 13, 2021
"I told [Villanova coach] Jay [Wright], let's just do it again tomorrow," UCLA coach Mick Cronin said with a grin afterward. "It doesn't get much better than that." It really doesn't.

So give credit to Wright and Cronin for scheduling this game and making it happen. Both coaches knew their teams would be good, understood the value of testing themselves early, and weren't worried about possibly taking a non-league loss in November. This isn't college football, where one early loss really can cost you an opportunity to play for a national title. College basketball isn't dumb like that. Nothing that happens in terms of wins and losses in November is a season-killer. It's nice when coaches recognize that and create fun games for the sport. Hopefully more will do it next season.

UCLA remains No. 2 in Saturday morning's updated CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings. Villanova remains No. 5 because -- listen up, AP voters! -- it would make no sense to punish a team for losing a game in .overtime to a higher-ranked team on the road.

In the main Parrish's statement rings true. However, it was a very good game overall. That missed layup-to-end regulation will haunt the Wildcats all season. Instead of stealing the road victory and 'getting out of Dodge', they give new life to UCLA and get the OT L in return. Not good. The poll voters & national talking heads will use this game to severely browbeat the conference.

Refs really let them play. Great game to watch. Villanova really was the better team last night. They let that game get away. I thought Villanova should have attacked sooner at the end with UCLA having fouls to give.

That is what struck me, too. Had it been more even, it’s likely that Nova would’ve been able to run a better play with some reasonable clock left.

It’s a shame it came out the way that it did, but Nova earned a great deal of respect for going out there and playing the way they did.

This is why teams don't go on the road if they don't have to. We were the better team and still lost!

these quotes below are spot on.
Nova let the game get away and even missed a buzzer-beater layup. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
