I don't follow the NBA that closely and had no idea who the Celtics were considering in their search, but I don't recall hearing Stevens name mentioned. I always thought he might be a logical choice to replace Coach K someday at Duke.

I didn't hear a thing either. All of the sudden, it's everywhere.

An interim coach isn't the end of the world...just gotta get the right guy.

Butler isn't as appealing to me as a Big East fan right now.

Gregg Marshall?
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Butler just has to make the rightbhire now. No assistants. They should hire someone with head coaching experience. Even looking to guys who have been out a while. Tim Welsh, Fran Fraschilla, Seth Greenberg are some quality guys that will be able to recruit. They need a familiar name.

Ben Howland?

Oh my god, shut up VCU fan. No one adds a school because of who the coach is 'right now.' That's a dumb, short-sighted view. Butler beat you in many other ways.

Have fun living in your delusions that Shaka will never leave.

Maybe Shaka will take the Butler job so he can coach in a major conference.

That would be hilarious! I think Howland would be a suitable replacement. Obviously, you'd like to get Marshall or Smart but I doubt either would leave.

If we were choosing between vcu and butler as of today I would still go with Butler.

Any chance Collier takes the job for a year? Alvarez coached the Rose Bowl to give the school time to find a suitable replacement.

That would be the sweetest move ever.
