DePaul (and Butler) have been really nice surprises this year. Still haven't done enough for the AP to rank them, but I'm fine with them flying under the radar a bit prior to conference play.

Tyger Campbell, I think. UCLA, still early. Not sure but he'd play behind Charlie Moore. And they're better off with Jacobs longterm maybe? That SLU kid would've been a good depth piece, though.

Eh, Shannon's getting minutes for Texas Tech. Maybe he would have elected to stay home after all if he knew DePaul was going to be pretty good, but between Big 12 arenas and Texas coeds he'll be just fine. No way of knowing if that scholarship is still sitting there for Charlie Moore after the season in that case either. The guy who misplayed his hand is Carteare Gordon - Saint Louis won the A10 last year and has started this season off well, winning the Gotham Classic, and DePaul looks like a possible tourney team this year while Gordon's riding a bus for Northwest Florida Community College and burning up his second year of eligibility in the process.

Tough to blame a kid going to Texas Tech. Owens did well going there, although we'll never know what kind of season SJU would've had with him. Gordon's on his 9th team? Don't want to judge, but maybe he's not getting good advice.

Cart'are Gordon must be getting poor advice from fam/handlers. He's a potential NBA guy and he shoulda stayed with DePaul.
BS call for him to leave prior to playing a single game/season. The Demons frontcourt woulda been even more formidable adding him with Reed/Butz/Weems/Hall/Ongenda.

Oh well...such is life. Demons should handle Tex Tch at home. Go Blue Demons.

Nice to see DePaul and Butler getting some love from the AP. They certainly deserve it.

Hasn't been the excellent start that some hoped for, but hey it's December and we have 5 teams ranked in the top 34. That's still pretty damn good. Night and day vs last year.
