Well the agreed upon terms before the league started were that the team in protocol would forfeit. PC literally had losses in the standings on the Big East website. Once they rescinded that, I think the way this was viewed by the teams who got shortchanged games titled significantly.

Quick hits--

- Sorry about those sh-tty Friars fans at MSG. Definitely eeren't alums, and were probably from Burrillville (that will make sense to locals, haha).

- On Stever's Q1 thru Q4 points... those are based on NET though, right, with hidden numbers which are based on efficiency.. but we can only guess on other factors, the hidden special sauce factors (an ACC boost factor?). I made a point one time about how if say Duke or Kansas were in our situation with impressive but close wins, but NET at 48, then ESPN and Coach K would've eliminated the use of NET by the end of January.

Anyway, again, great responses.

They are- but in RPI like I said they'd be worse off....
Marquette- 36 NET / 42 RPI
Xavier- 37 NET / 46 RPI
Seton Hall- 33 NET/ 44 RPI
not to mention St John's- 72 NET / 119 RPI

They would be only 4-3 if we were still using RPI in Q1 games

Of the 11 teams in the league- only 3 are better in RPI than they are NET. Providence (24/11), Nova (7/5), and Creighton (60/41). 7 of the teams are at least 9 spots better in NET than they are RPI UConn (18/29), Seton Hall (33/44), Xavier (37/46), St John's (72/119), DePaul (102/127), Butler (125/146), and Georgetown (193/242). Marquette is 6 spots better.

Hey, the Providence luck is running out.

They are now tied for 2nd on the KP luck rating. UNC Wilmington has passed them.

You are REALLY going to hate UCONN fans. Cheers!

While I'll be rooting for UCONN in the NCAA tourney, Husky U speaks the truth. The only time in my life I almost totally lost it at a basketball game, and wanted to throw my beer in another fans face was a UCONN game. And even then i had to choose which fan since there were about ten of them I wanted to give the beer shower to.

I admire Ed's coaching style, have loved watching a number of Friars over the years. Cotton, Dunn, Hinton come to mind. One of my favorite teams in the league, maybe because they're always overlooked.

UConn fans are so much worse…..back when I was still living in NY and had SJU season tickets, the game against them at the Garden every year was torture. I have no problem with visiting fans supporting their team (games at MSG always bring a decent contingent of visiting fans) but the UConn fans would be so rude and many were just completely wasted. And my guess is 99% of them were not UConn alums…..

I'll have to make a comparison next week. :o

I'm not certain I've ever given a 'backstory" on me and Prov? I love RI, Newport, Jamestown, Middletown, Fall River (Mass), etc.
Save your V_g_na College (now Coed??), New England boiled dinner, Salas' Restaurant, weekends in Beantown (and too naive to know
where NOT to go), Tennis HoF, 2nd Beach, America's Cup racing, the Jazz Fest was back! Cape Verdean women...what's not to love?
Hell if Uncle Sweets hadn't cancelled the $10K bonus for medics in Fall 1974, I'd of bought a Vette ($6K-6,800 back then) and probably still be in Newport today!
As it turned out - me & the MGB returned to Omaha and introduced myself to lil Creighton in Aug of 1975.

Many Jays loyalists today probably wish I had stayed in Rhode Island... :o :o    ;)

It's not beans nor snakes. Beans & rice are a Nawlins staple- a complete meal. Snakes? Turn around
and git.

It ain't Prov per se...and with the return of Youc_n't...my focus may shift. It's a philosophical and stylistic difference.

I grew up on pretty basketball...you know, take youse to the hoop, make the fine jumper. Maybe, just maybe play a bit of D in spots to keep you honest.
First one to 90 wins...Played that way in schools and lo & behold - Lil Creighton plays that way. Illinois St, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS, and Wichita CC were the
only conference schools to play Thug n Mug ball, in our pre-BE era.

The entire Big East (OBE/C7) pride themselves on Thug n Mug ball. Y'all wear T&M badges on your sweats?
In your grill, hacking, steppin on feet/tripping/holding your clothing. Elbows, shoving, locking you up with hooks, grabbin' your waistband- "where u goin"?
All the while smiling n talking shit... Last one standing at 50 wins! This is basketball???

Although I had seen it previously on tv and in the Dance (SH), it was quite the shock in 2013. Nobody exemplifies Thug & Mug ball more than Gtwn & Prov. UConn
evidently prides themselves on T&M too. Now, since we own Foggy Bottom and Georgetown - no problem, but Ed and Prov have been a consistent thorn in
the side. ED is 12-8 versus my Jays (incl. this year's solo game). All the while cheesing, being Mac's Bud, and sayin' all the diplomatic sh_t publicly. Only Nova
has more Ws over us than Prov.

Fortunately, we are recruiting better and getting tougher, higher-quality talent. So we are beginning to fare better in conference play. Lil Cr8n will finally put that
sh___t back in faces where it originated.

So Billyjack... It ain't Providence College. It's the old school/OBE style of play they represent that I can't stand. And I love it whenever we can wipe that shiteating grin
off Ed's mug. ;) Congrats on 'outNova-ing Nova' and winning the BE Regular Season Championship.

Shoutout to Arizhusky... Hey bud, it's gonna be a few more years of incremental improvement before uconn will again be 'elite'. It's advisable to develop a bit of patience
with Hurley and the team. How's it feel to be 0-5 against the Catholic stepkids of the corn?

UConn fans are pretty rough...

Back in 2010 I visited wifey at Storrs (she was a UConn Undergrad back then) while I attended Stony Brook across the sound. We went to that UConn-SBU game in early November. I got bullied at the GP as I was one of like 200 with SBU gear (Little did they know that I also supported UConn). That's when I realized how much of assh* UConn fans can be.

It ended with someone randomly throwing a drink cup behind my back. Inexplicable how a fan-base can get so caught up over a game against a low-major program...
