Anyone see all of the "Georgetown was my dream school" Tweets he did 5 years ago (can't confirm if real)? If true, did PC even run a background check?

Of course a 34 yr old black man from Baltimore is going to idolize GT.
Mu hunch on 6 years is it is the security required to increase the buyout upon exit and I'd have to think that there is an additional kicker for leaving to an in conference school.

Nobody said they needed to hire a 34 year old black man from Baltimore, especially someone who I never knew coached until a couple days ago (I've been following coaching candidates a lot over the past year). I thought a large reason they'd hire an unknown would be connections to PC ensuring he'll be there for a while. Now it seems that even if he's successful then Georgetown could be a possibility once Cooley retires.
All thar said, I don't like what Cooley did and am happy to hear that the transfers should stay (was thinking Cooley could/would raid PC). I'm rooting for PC to have a strong first year and that could go a long way towards making this a successful hire.

It sounded to me like PC's AD actually had a lot of input on this one, as he was on TV last week literally telling people that the next hire will define his career. With alternatives being the likes of Becker, Schmidt, Langel, etc., swing for the fences situation, I guess.

Most rational people accept and understand that. Cooley is gone let's move on and learn that nothing is for ever. English is young, aggressive and ambitious. Lets hope he delivers. If (when) he moves on it will hopefully be due to his success.
He has connections in talent rich DC. Maybe DC recruits will want to play for a DC guy in New England more than they want to play for a New England guy in DC

Our AD is not being shy. Here's one for all of those who for some reason think hiring a coach inter-conference is somehow a good thing for the league. There's no doubt the league has changed after all of this, and not for the better. Turns out our conference isn't unique after all. And as a fan of the Big East Conference as a whole, that kinda sucks.
Providence AD Steve Napolillo:
"I thought the AD at Georgetown was a mentor to me and a friend."
"I understand the business, but I really thought, at the Big East, we had something different."
"We had respect. We had integrity."
"That's been completely thrown out the door."

Those are some heavy quotes. Ouch. It does suck. For a time we all thought the Big East was this group of catholic school banding together against the world.
Well... I guess the league is NOW in the top so its has no need to protect itself from everyone else. Now we are back to pre-2014 Big East where members are out to get each other.
It is what it is. I think the league will be fine... Providence will be fine... Everyone will be fine at the end of the day.
