Why in the world would the AAC agree to house UConn's miserable football team without getting to host their BB team? I don't see that ever happening, which is why any discussion about UConn is a waste of time unless and until they drop football all together, which is extremely unlikely.
To take it one step further, I'd be willing to wager that the AAC's bylaws REQUIRE a school to field a men's basketball program. I don't see them relaxing such guidelines just to keep UConn's miserable football team.
I'll take that wager. Just ask Navy.

Anyways, AAC is a joke, they will take whatever they can get.

Navy is a completely different animal. Their basketball team stinks and the conference didn't want it anyway. In essence, they are the exact opposite of UConn. For UConn, it is their basketball program that is coveted.
Until someone can show me that the AAC would be willing to house UConn's football team without getting their basketball program, I think this whole line of thought is nothing more than a wild fantasy.

You lost your wager.
There is a long history of "football only" programs in the AAC and its predecessor Big East Football Conference.

This is probably the correct attitude FWIW. If the C7 presidents had any interest in these schools it would've happened when they broke off.

No. Does the relationship sour if there are more defections from the ACC for FB (think Florida State, VA Tech, maybe even UNC or NC State to the SEC or Big 12), and the other schools start putting pressure on ND to join in all sports. Trust me I am not happy that ND didn't do more to try to help keep the oBE together but, they'd be a better BB option than some of the others mentioned.
