Georgetown @ Providence 1/8

The home for Big East hoops

Wow, very surprised at this result - coming in I figured this would a fairly close game for about 30 minutes with the Hoyas pulling away late... obviously that didn't happen. Very nice home win for the Friars, and should give them some momentum through the weekend into next week. Road games in the Big East are going to be tough no matter whether its at CU, Nova, Providence, or DePaul - road teams are going to have to bring their A game or they will leave the road arena with L's most likely, especially in a deep conference like the BE.

Friars looked good. I was rooting for my team. Watched this game and then did the nova v seton hall game on tivo. Good night.

This is a devastating loss for the conference though. Georgetown just cost themselves a seed line and removed any chance they have of being ranked. The trade off for me being happy tonight is okay, but for the conference providence's season is still a bust and the conference gains nothing by the result.

ya but friarfan, PC has a lot of VERY WINNABLE games coming up.

would you root for creighton to beat them on the 18th if PC wins at St. Johns on the 16th?

say what u want, but PC still is a tourney hopeful (a long shot, but they could still be the 5th or 6th team the big east gets in)

This is JT3's worst team. There was no way it was going to be ranked this year FF2. The 2012 and 2013 recruiting classes were mostly misses. We'll probably get 1 starter from those classes.
The best players from the 2011 class are gone. With the changes this past summer with the staff, recruiting has picked up again (2014 & 2015). But this year will be a struggle, especially on the road.

The hoyas are in great shape for the future. Recruiting great and the results will be on the floor next year. Same thing goes for the other teams. This is just the first year of recruiting for the "new" Big East and it has been fantastic. Most teams have done very well and will continue to do so. Just look at the big bad ACC. Outside of duke and "cuse that league isn't exactly killing it out there. There is lot's of parity in college BB right now.

not too bad of a crowd considering the students arent back yet

unless PC gets it together and is able to get other quality wins. i agree we need terams to standout from the rest. however pc, hall and depaul going 2-16 imo wont help the conference, the critcs would claim the better performing teams had wins against weak opponents. there is a fine line

I don't think it really matters, there are a lot of people who will find any reason to hate on our conference. I think the only way to shut them up is if the teams that we do send, be it 2 or 5, to the tournament make a deep run. Final Four or bust!
