Was hoping for just a shot to win the game at the end starting the game, but damn if that didn't hurt when we held them to 19 in the second half! On to the next one, but might be a pretty special team when learn to finish games like that!
Lets go Dawgs!

A W tonight would more than solidify an already stellar OOC resume for Butler. A W for UConn would provide them a more than tournament quality OOC resume.

UConn battling to hang in there.

Dickie V just went into his UConn/Calhoun spiel. And all the great players who played for him. Said he’s on his Mt Rushmore and that the Huskies had 16 years where they were as good as the top teams. Then he said they should pay Ollie what they owe him.

ESPN showing a lot of the old pics from that period.

It’s hard not to imagine how It would have been if UConn would’ve joined at their peak in 2013. That wouldve been wild.

GTFO...They have peaked way too early. The Dawgs have a really good backcourt but so does everybody else. Other than that you have a one trick pony, a Horizon transfer and a bunch of role players....AND zero post presence. This is a badass Big East sports fans, and Butler will struggle with the physicality of the gauntlet. Just wait and see what Purdue's size does to them!

They'll take there BEast lumps for sure. At least 9 of them and finish close to where the coaches had them slotted.

1. They just went into a potential F4 teams building and had the ball with a chance to win at the end.
2. Is “peaked too early” your way conceding that they’ve played better than anyone else in conference?
3. Are you upset that their transfer is playing much better than the one X brought in?
4. Who do you believe at this point is the team to beat? Let me guess...

So your working reality is Butler at the top of a loaded Big East and Baylor in the F4. Both of those are highly unlikely but kudos for putting yourself out there.

As far as BU goes, they look really good but everyone can agree they've exceeded expectations....I contend that they have snuck up on some people in the most classic fashion, but now that they're ranked, that little edge is gone. The Purdue game will be an excellent gauge of how "for real" they are and expose them to the kind of physicality they will see in conference. Hey, I hope they beat the Boilers just from a BE standpoint...AND down the line they beat the hell out of Nova twice. That way your prediction will be really accurate.

BTW, our transfer, if you're referring to Carter, is the 3rd possibly 4th frontcourt option offensively by design. Not the case with Nze. He has been thrust into basically the 1st paint option by necessity.

Also, I have to stick with my preseason picks. Still like SHU, X and GU at getting near that 12 win threshold come March. Picking the Hoyas as my darkhorse took a hit but I predicted in another thread they may be stronger thru adversity and it's looking like that's the case.

FYI Greg Williams' posterizing dunk made Barstool, ESPN, and SportsCenter top 10...came in at #1. The downside is we lose Heron for much of if not the entire season.

WTF? Tell us what happened, in detail if possible. Were you watching when he got hurt? This is terrible news.

The article I read said he went up to block a shot with about 2 mins left in the game and landed on the foot of a Brown player. Had to be carried off the floor. I assume they won't know much more until sometime today but Anderson was talking "next man up" postgame.
