Mathematically, if it were a real, complete schedule, Providence likely isn't winning the league. They would be betting underdogs in all 3 games they didn't play. Even if we give them a 50/50 chance to win all 3 games, that's still just a 1 in 8 chance they go 3-0.

The only real reason I care as a Villanova fan is that we've won either of the league titles every season, and this would be a pretty garbage way for that streak to end. I totally get why Creighton fans would think it's hypocritical, but Villanova would have likely won the title anyway had those games been played given the games they lost.

Well the agreed upon terms before the league started were that the team in protocol would forfeit. PC literally had losses in the standings on the Big East website. Once they rescinded that, I think the way this was viewed by the teams who got shortchanged games titled significantly.

This is very incorrect. The Big East rescinded their forfeit policy on December 23. At that point only one of our games, December 22 against Gtown, was cancelled because of Georgetown's covid issues. At that point we had a forfeit WIN in the official standings, not a loss. Our three cancelled games didn't come until January 11-18. That was three weeks after the Big East rescinded their forfeit policy. The Big East website never had those being L's for the Friars.
