I watch fs1 as much as I can but their afternoon stuff pales to ESPN. Hopefully they continue to gain viewers while maintains the Big East as a focal point.

My concern is that once the game turned into a blowout, people that had tuned in flipped the channel.

That show "Crowd Goes Wild" is literally one of the most cringe-inducing shows I have ever seen.

I agree, CBSSN did a nice job, unfortunately, no one probably saw it. Maybe it has something to do with the CBS Final Four music and what not, but definitely was a great broadcast. Fox is pretty new at doing hoops so give them some time.

As an aside, NFL is putting up Thursday night football up for bid, if Murdoch opens his wallet, this would be a gamechanger for FS1 for sure (and be huge for the Big East). Thursday night football would only take up one prime-time slot during the week (or every other week) but make the ratings soar and easily match ESPN2.

Doesn't look good:

All of the league's TV partners submitted bids last Friday for the Thursday night game package. Turner Sports also placed a bid. It is not clear who is the front runner or how much the package is worth, since nobody outside of the NFL has seen the bids. Sources said that if ESPN wins, it would put the games on ABC. CBS, Fox and NBC also most likely would put the games on their broadcast nets. The available package will only be one year, and games likely will be simulcast on NFL Network.

Very interesting. I know they say 1 year- but if they do it, and it's a hit- can't see them turning back.

Ratings in for January 13th - 19th

UFC brought in the two highest ratings with a .4 and a .3
Arizona/Arizona State brought in the first .2 (318,000 viewers) of the CBB season (and third highest of the week).
St. John's/Providence Double OT game brought a .1 (115,000)
Providence/Creighton also brought a .1 (88,000)
UCLA/Utah also brought a .1 (81,000)

All other games brought a 0.0. Very interested to see what the Creighton/Nova game rated at.

Interesting footnote on the data presented in the link. The viewers (P2+) are viewers 2 years of age and older. Wonder why they count two year olds. I don't think they are part of too many market focus groups.

FOX raising it's stake in the YES network from 49% to 80%. The station delivers coverage of the NY Yankees and the Brooklyn Nets.

I would count this as good news. Interested to see what, if anything, else changes on Crowd Goes Wild.
