Hey, if the baseball isn't in Omaha, maybe DePaul can work out a deal with the Cubs to play at Wrigley.

Apparently the Big Ten will have its tournament in Omaha: http://www.omaha.com/article/20130604/HUSKERS/706049849

Wrigley is a good idea, but that'd be tough. I just don't know how willing MLB would be to work its schedule for the Cubs around a tournament which would be lucky to make Wrigley 20% full. Last year's Big Ten tournament in Minneapolis, for instance, drew just over 6,000 fans for all 11 games.

The key to finding the right venue is the ability to draw local support. Outside of the ACC, SEC, a few Big 12 teams, and one or two others in Texas and the west coast, college baseball struggles to draw many fans at all, let alone fans who are willing to travel.

How about Pawtucket? Doesn't the minor league team there have a big following? Could that translate to butts in the seat for a college baseball tournament?

Maybe Indianapolis could work. I found in the years I lived there that amateur sports, in general, are about as well supported in that city as any place you'll find.

The website has a "super scoreboard" that is pretty cool. Let's you follow the scores of every BIg East event simultaneously.

Am I completely missing something, or does the website -- which appears to be in pretty good shape in most respects -- not include any actual conference standings for any of the sports that are currently in progress? Am I missing it, or is there actually no spot on the website to go to specific sports, see the standings and schedules, etc., just for that sport?

I think they've done a nice job with what's on there, and that super scoreboard is pretty cool -- but how do you have a major conference website and not actually include standings? Isn't that one of the top things people go to conference websites to find?

You aren't missing it, it isn't there. Seems a lot of stuff still isn't there. Hopefully it is still a work in progress.

That bio reads:
The conference will crown champions in 22 sports in 2013-14, the 35th season in its history

Officially we are not the new Big East we are the Big East.
Coach Al Mcguire:
"I like seashells and balloons, ribbons and medals, bare feet and wet grass."
"When I'm losing, they call me nuts. When I'm winning, they call me eccentric."
"Queen of victory, pray for us."

The Media Guide from last month's event in New York confirmed that we took the history of the conference. It not only included the past champions/stats in all sports we sponsor, but it also included stats from sports we no longer sponsor yet the AAC does, like rowing. The only thing still up in there air, as far as I know, is football. The history section called us a new conference entity, so old conference with new structure.

You can also look on the archives for individual sports on the website, it goes back many years, now.
