You’re my boy gtmo! You’re my boy! Thought Creighton looked a lot better than people giving them credit for. Villanova had to play one of their best half’s of the year to get that W. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Creighton start to make a run.

Nothing better to cure what ails you is to have a game against SJU on Wednesday without Shamorie.....(still unclear if he will play).....I'm sure Creighton will light us up.....

Ponds won't play, so there's your win. Why do we always have to be the nice guys to give away games?

GumbyDamnit! wrote:This seems to happen every year and most of it originates from our resident doom and gloom visitor from the AAC... the BE games / losses do not occur in a vacuum. So, yes, individual losses like SJU at home vs DePaul or Butler to X aren’t ideal, we have to realize that other teams out there struggling for a bid are putting up even worse losses. Cause loses to 120 GA Tech at home and Cinncinnati loses to 200+ ECU. We are falling into the trap yet again here in early/mid January of making assumptions for the rest of the season. Lots of BB yet to be played. The good news is that there are no poison teams in the league this year. Not one team over 101 in the NET. So unlike a potential loss to a team like ECU, losses to DePaul and G’town won’t sting nearly as much.

And one thing that the other conferences have this year that the Big East doesn't is elite teams. Just saw it in the ACC. Syracuse bounced back from losing to Georgia Tech- which dropped them from 46 on Friday to 59 today- by beating #1 Duke on the road. Consider last week #62 Temple beat #4 Houston at home and moved up like 20 spots. Syracuse will probably move up a lot more than that. So go 1-1 but see their rating probably move up from 46 to at least 40 if not better....

Also, I'd say there are poison teams when you can lose to a team and fall by more than 10 spots. Just what happened to St John's when they lost to DePaul.

Yep, St. John's is a massive contributor to the Big East.

Play really well OOC, then elevate the rest of the conference by letting them all beat us.

If they lose vs Creighton would need to in final 12 conference games, Duke game, and BET game win 8 games.

while they did go 12-0 OOC, it was a for the most part empty 12-0. Needed 10 wins in conference play to seal the deal. Compare that to Seton Hall who could go 9-9 and make the tourney pretty easily....

Made it back to Omaha this weekend for the Phil Booth show...apologies for image quality.

Aside from Booth's 10 or 12 straight early in the second half, Gillespie hit some big 3s and we forgot (or Nova prevented) about Martin in the post in the 2nd half. It is fun to hear Wright work his team (and the refs).
