Butler- Jordan Fired- and Thad Matta Hired!

The Butler community is literally buzzing right now. This feels like a big-league hire. Now let’s hope he can convince Ron Nored to come on as lead assistant!

For the Big East, they have hired three new head coaches (Matta, Miller and Holloway) with a combined: an NCAAT Runner-Up, a Final Four, Seven Elite Eights, Five Sweet 16s, 25 NCAAT Appearances and an NIT Championship (and that is without Jay Wright's numbers included). The Big East stepped up in a big way with coaching hires this cycle, as each new coach has made an Elite Eight or better. The league just got even harder.

And don't forget last year's hires, Stubblefield at DePaul and Shaka at Marquette. Major upgrades with excellent coaching hires at half the league's teams. Gotta love this league.

Just think right now a coach like Dan Hurley is a middle of the road coach in this conference, if not in the bottom half. That's crazy.

With these excellent hires, Butler & Xavier will now compete with anyone, anywhere.
Miller & Matta will compete with the B1G directly in going after Upper Midwest top tier
players, even Kentucky area players. Additionally, both coaches have enough strength to
snag players from other regions of the country, Miller- WC, Matta- EC.

Within 2 years these two guys will be battling for the BE crown. The Big East has gained
windfall in coaches these last 2 off-seasons. This league is gonna be hyper-competitive!
