Obviously, St. John's made a much bigger run. It's disappointing for the Johnnies to lose that game. They truly had Butler on the ropes. But credit to Butler for digging deep and finding a way to win late. Johnnies are going to be a pain to play this season, especially when Heron is back.

So crazy I wanted Butler to win so we crack the top 10 as a conference but wanted the Johnnies because of NYC on NYE and those fans were great and I love Mike Anderson already. That’s why the OOC is fun... that’s history now and it’s time to tape up the fists and prepare for a bloodied lip

It's too early for me to worry what's best for the conference. All of these teams other than Providence have resumes that could easily be NCAA Tournament resumes. I just root for Villanova and for good games. I was hoping the Johnnies would finish the comeback, partly because it looks like Butler is our biggest competition for 1st place, but even that is way too early to tell.

Time to tape up the fists and fight. No more being all nice to each other!

Kamar had to sit out an 8-minute portion of the second half due to an ankle injury. During that time, SJU went on a 21-2 run.

They did a good job of denying Thompson the ball, leaving Butler’s wings to beat the press... which didn’t go well.

Kamar was in a walking boot after the game. Hopefully he all goos for Creighton on Saturday.

As I used to say about my man Marcus F&@$ING Foster...Kamar FU€£|#G Baldwin.

Virtuoso performance again. Right now BE POY by a landslide.

Baldwin is not a landslide for PoY. You obviously do not follow Butler closely. Baldwin has been in a downward spiral since the Florida game.
His shooting and percentages have plummeted and he's been in some sort of funk. Butler has continued winning over the last several games, in spite of his performances.
Been asking the Butler faithful about him, but nothing substantial given in response.
(I follow him closely as he is "my superstar" on my BE fantasy team.) Good to see him rebound back up a bit, but he is far from a
PoY candidate at this point.

If I'm a St. John's fan I have to be happy with the way Mike Anderson is changing the culture in Queens. No way this team would've put such a fight on previous years. I see a bright future for NYC CBB Basketball. I think SJU has the pieces to return to the tournament on back-to-back years. That would be huge!

was nice to see johnnies fans give them an ovation when they walked off the court. gave it their all without their two best players. not a lot of chances to cheer for a team giving all out effort under mullin

Good game by Butler getting the W far from home. Checked the score early and was thinking, "here we go again..." from the Mullin years. Expected we would lose by 20 or 30 after that, but then checked with 3 min left in the game and we were UP 5. We had a chance but blew it. But can't be too upset...Butler is a top 10 team. We will win plenty of nailbiters and lose plenty. This was a 50/50 game. I'm just shocked we didn't score for like 2+ minutes or so late in the game and ended up losing by 1 basket without our 2 best players LJ (foul trouble all game) and Heron (injury). We literally had 2 and 3 star kids out there scaring a top 10 team. I'm hoping that's a sign that Anderson will change our culture. In years past under Mullin or Lavin this is a 30 pt loss for us. Not the result I wanted obviously, but was shocked to even make it a game after the blowout early. We are very scrappy.
