FS1 &FS2

I'm thinking of changing to a cable company that carries FS1 but not FS2. Does anyone know if the basketball games will ever be carried on FS2? Would hate to miss any games.

I'd imagine a decent chunk will in fact be on FS2

I don't know, so far the official stuff I've seen from Fox regarding FS2 is that they will show soccer, racing and UFC. Our AD said that ALL of the conference games will be on FS1. Not sure if I can believe that either, I would think that a small percentage will go to FS2. Maybe in a few years when Fox gets more properties, more games might move to FS2 but right now, FS1 has almost no live January-March programming.

It will be impossible for FS1 to cover games played at the same time on the same night. Can't see every game on FS1.

Well, if you play Big East games on Tues/Thur/Sat/Sun as rumored (Monday is boxing and Wednesday is UFC and no one watches on Friday), it's possible to show the vast majority of games on FS1 like 2 games each on Tue/Thur and one on FS2 either Tue or Thur. Saturday/Sunday shouldn't be an issue.

I can't wait for the sched to come out next week. I am so pumped for this season. I am also hoping most games end up on FS1, since I get that in HD, as of now I get FS2 but its like watching without glasses (no HD). I am hoping FIOS adds it to HD soon, which I am sure they will. I have a feeling Fox will put the top programs (G'Town, Marquette, Nova) on FS1 more often and the rebuilding programs like SHU and PC on FS2 more often. We'll see though. Either way its gonna be awesome, no more streaming on the laptop to see games (ESPN 3)....

The comment from Creighton's AD was that all conference games would be on Fox, but he never (that I'm aware) specifically said Fox Sports 1. When he made that comment back in June, FS2 was not yet official so that led a lot of us, myself included, to assume every game would be on the mothership -- there was nowhere else to put them, after all. Now that FS2 is official, I don't think it's very likely that all 90 conference games air on FS1. My guess is the bulk of the games -- maybe 50-60 of the 90 conference games -- wind up on FS1, but the rest will be on FS2.

This article makes it sound like all BE games for all teams on Fox Sports1, which I guess would make sense due to the fact that Fox needs to fill the slate on FS1.....Also this article and the article on a Villanova page make it sound like the BE has in the contract for all gameson FS1... I guess we find out next week.

"FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports’ newly minted national multi-sport channel which launches this summer, is slated to televise over 100 men’s regular-season basketball games next season. The network is also scheduled to carry the entire Big East Men’s Basketball Tournament each season, live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, the tournament’s home since 1983, and the longest-running conference tournament played at one venue."

From a Villanova site about Fox acquiescing to the lower rate fee:

"For the Big East, it is clearly a benefit that Fox did not hold out to press the issue on a higher fee. Launching on 90 million set-top boxes was key to the new conference's decision to sign on with the upstart national network. It may even be that agreements with the Big East, NASCAR, UFC and others required FS1 to fulfill a promise to launch the network with that reach, causing them to fold in negotiations."

I flipped over to the Kansas State game on FS1 tonight and the feed has been terrible...very choppy. Hopefully it's just local here in Chicago and not the entire network.
