Good interview where he states we will be 12 teams within 5 years.

The two schools will come from the group of Richmond, SLU, VCU, and Dayton.

Thx for the link...great interview. But I'm not buying that list unless expansion happens next year, otherwise why wait...because you're still looking.

I thought it was a bit odd that the newest athletic director in the Big East would make the most definitive comments about expansion we have heard thus far. Did he not get the memo about keeping quiet?

Can't listen because I'm at work but did he explicitly call out which schools are in consideration?

Pool of 4 with UD, SLU, VCU, and Richmond.

The list wasn't four teams for four additions. They could be waiting for many reasons, one of which could simply be wanting more time to evaluate.

Not the most definite, I think it was Seton Hall's president (and maybe one other) that said that they already knew the conference would go to 12, months ago. What he said is pretty much rehash of many things spilled since this whole thing started. I've been expecting 12 with a stop at 10 pretty much ever since news of the Fox deal leaked, nothing has ever contradicted it while many things have supported it. Those teams have long been those rumored, as he pointed out, it was nothing but confirmation.

Where is Dumpster? I worry about that guy when he's quiet for too long.

I think the push to 12 was set long ago, the money makes sense. But more time to evaluate isn't how realignment has been working. Conferences & schools have only waited because they weren't sure about the numbers being big enough. He said five years...five years is forever in the realignment era. Butler wouldn't have been on the BE first expansion list 5 years ago and maybe not for 11 or 12 either. I think the longer they wait, more teams are going to get on that list that's all.

None of them have an outstanding basketball tradition, the best being Dayton who's living off of ancient history and every board I've ever been on their fans have been wayyy over cocky about their team. Hoping for SLU and Richmond or for Davidson to crush the A10 when they get there and it be SLU and Davidson.

Had a little car accident not long ago. Someone going on "record" saying 12 is cool. I don't believe it until it happens, but Xavier's AD isn't exactly Lenn Robbins either.
