I picked Xavier. They are sort of an unknown to me and since they didn't have a great season last year I think the step up could be challenging.

It looks like the real horse race is going to be the 1-5 spots.

I think everyone is picking Xavier in the middle to the lower half because of their record last season and I think we may surprise everyone here by the end of the season. Last year's team really played well together. Great chemistry. The issue that they had was they lost Dez Wells to expulsion, now Maryland's leading returning scorer, and Mark Lyons, who was told that he wouldnt be welcomed back for the season after graduating and starting at Arizona last year. They also had two pretty good freshman that were declared non qualifiers by the NCAA. Bottom line they played short handed with 7 scholarship players, gave a scholarship to a walk-on (who played significant minutes, and really only had two ball handlers. The record could have been much better, but they lost numerous games in the final 4 minutes. They ran out of gas. This year should be much different.

I completely agree with you. I am not trying to sway votes, but it will be a disappointing season if Xavier finishes 7th in the league. I predict X to finish in the top 5, and it would not shock me if they finished top 3.

Love X and think they'll be the most successful of the new teams but unfortunately I think they need one more year to gel before returning to their usual selves. But I hope I'm wrong because there are certain other teams (like Providence from what I see of a fan of theirs) I would love to see flop behind a fellow Jesuit school that's good at BBall.

Pencil me in as a Xavier believer. I got you guys at 5 on my list this season.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Damn I should have voted for Xavier. :) I chose Creighton but Xavier was right there and I was going back and forth. I see why many are picking PC to finish 7th, I just hope they are wrong. PC seems to have the talent and length on paper to finish in the top 5 but they have to prove themselves first.

Providence will finish in the 4-6 range. Creighton, Georgetown, Villanova, then a three way battle between providence, Marquette and the johnnies in the 4-6 range.
