St. John's desperate already for a win having lost @ Xavier and with Nova at home next on the docket.

Georgetown was asleep at the wheel vs. DePaul but still managed to win.

Georgetown has won 5 straight vs. St. John's so no one on St. John's current roster has ever beat the Hoyas.

St. John's has not won in DC since 2003 (Obviously they didn't get a chance every year, but still)

There is no love lost between the teams:
"Those two games fanned the embers between the programs to white hot. Georgetown won by 16 in a game that wasn't close and included former-Storm forward Amir Garrett firing a ball off the face of Jabril Trawick as he was falling out of bounds. After the Hoyas' 68-56 win at Verizon Center, Garrett and Trawick had to be separated after tempers flared in the handshake line."

"We don't like them at all," Red Storm junior Sir'Dominic Pointer said.
"It's got to be hereditary, like from the first game. They have a player on their team who I played with for a long time," Pointer went on, referring to his former high school teammate and current Georgetown's Aaron Bowen. "This is a rivalry game. As soon as he went to Georgetown it was like 'during the game I've got no love for you. Off the court, I love you to death but on the court no love."

"We just don't like them. You just want to beat them," junior Phil Greene said. "We haven't beaten them yet. They embarrassed us last year (at home) and beat us on their court. We want to beat them."

Going to be a very interesting game. It's also very important for Georgetown to win this game with a 3 game road swing @ Providence, @ Butler, @ Xavier coming up next.

What worries me about this game is that the Johnnies are a talented team in near-desperation mode. I know it's too early to be in real desperation mode but they have a very tough opening schedule and you have to figure they will come out with Lavin lighting a fire under them. On our side, not much to like about that first game except for the win. Hope we come out very differently this game, but I can't figure out this team so who knows.

Oh man we're trying our very hardest to lose this game before it even tips off.

Georgetown will be wearing it's white alternate uniforms today and Pink Melo sneakers (and really ugly ones at that!)

Georgetown has never played well wearing special edition shoes or it's white uniforms. And now we're doing both.

Last time we wore special shoes at home we played so poorly in the first half JT3 made us switch back to our normal shoes at half time. The team mounted a great come back and won the game.

If we lose I'm totally blaming nike.

I think whichever AD did the scheduling for basketball must have really hated St. John's.

The way this game has been played so far, I think St. John's might hate themselves.

I thought we finished our cupcake schedule last week. prior to today- our biggest win was 35 vs High Point and FIU. We're up 27 right now.
