Xavier recruiting and the Big East

Many of you probably already know that ESPN has Xavier's incoming recruiting class ranked in the top 10. What I didn't know until last night is that three of the recruits have been nominated for the McDonald's All American team. I've been told just to be nominated is a high honor and until this year Xavier has never even had a recruit nominated ( Drew Lavendar was a MAA who transferred in from Oklahoma). I would attribute a lot of this to joining the Big East.

I highly HIGHLY doubt that this is Xavier's first. The McD AA nominations are very very long (like 500 people). Here's 2013's: http://www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com/con ... 012913.pdf

Actually the exact opposite. Practically anyone can be nominated.

It's 984 boys & girls combined at this point. The final cut will be 48 (24 boys & 24 girls) Here's 2014 link from the recruiting forum.

Hardly the first nominee, you're right. Xavier has never had a McD's recruit coming out of high school though. Bluiett stands a chance, at least.
