Perhaps the biggest remaining question for Catholic 7 is 9 or 10 teams next year. As of now, not decided. Creighton/Dayton on edge.

Interesting..

Other than that ESPN update, I can't find anything else that claims it to be official.

It was a typo. It has been corrected. They have not withdrawn.

Another fine bit of ESPN reporting, Bernie Fine himself would be proud...

Why should Creighton be on edge...aren't they the favorite for the 10th team, has that changed since then. From what I understood Dayton would be the last team in as number 12...has it changed to that Creighton is the last team in.

Dayton is a big TV draw plus you get a fantastic rival game in first year with Dayton and Xavier

And way less travel. Soccer, volleyball, etc. teams could play, Thursday, Saturday, Monday, at Dayton, Xavier, Butler and head home.

Its only logical that less travel would be a good thing for the student athletes and fans. But that doesn't matter to the presidents looking for a paycheck. Your Proximetly to Xavier and Indianapolis might be a draw back not a bonus. Fox Sports 1 is a new network looking for a large footprint to drive subscriber rights, that is what will wag the tail.

UD has some great things going for it (large stadium, high attendance, loyal fan base, etc). UD might even have great olympic sports (I honestly don't know. I don't care about the olympics, I definetly don't care about college olympic sports), but lets be honest how much weight does that even have. I could see soccer being important, since the sport keeps gaining in popularity. But I don't see why Fox would care about volleyball, or track.
