Huge implications if you are Creighton trying to stay out of Wednesday night play-in game. Providence win puts 4 teams at 6 wins, with DePaul a half game behind. Although a Butler win further cements Providence into the #9-10 slot, it also gives Butler a step up in the win column over Creighton in the scramble up the cellar steps. Going to have to go with the Butler loss here so we have the chance to climb over them. Providence has sure been an enigma, looking so lost in some games, but yet beating St. Johns, Xavier and Texas on the road. Still, not holding my breath. have to look for Providence to return the favor in the return match in the season finale.

Butler needs this game badly. A loss here probably sends them to the NIT, unless they beat Nova in Philly.

Down season for sure. Round robin is great and all but a couple more teams would create more separation in down years like this. Say if a team like uconn was in the league it would give more easy wins for say teams like seton hall, st. Johns teams that are 500. in league play. Add a team like Dayton they would probably in that 3rd or 4th place right now probably on the right side of the bubble. With only 10 teams the league starts to stagnate around the middle. Oh well.

Unless Seton Hall can beat either Nova, or Marquette, we might be a 3 bid league, especially if there are bid thieves. It's not set in stone yet, but one of the other bubble teams might need to win out for us to get a fourth team in.

Damn PC, know your role this year...ugh. Half joking...this season everything that could go wrong has gone wrong in terms of maximizing conference bids. No one else wants to step up beyond Nova, Marq, SJ. At least this season we had Marquette and St. John's ranked and rejuvenated. Now whenever someone says "you guys are just Nova" you can tell them that we've had Xavier, Butler, Seton Hall, PC, Marq, and SJ all ranked within the past few yrs. Some big time OOC wins too. May only be 3 bids this year so we need a huge year next season.

Creighton has also been ranked at some point in either of the two polls in 4 of the 6 years we have been in the BE

I don't care how "down" the BE is perceived to be this year. It's still the 5th ranked conference at this point (RPI). The A10 is ranked 12th and Dayton isn't even leading it.
UD would more likely be fighting for last place in the Big East. It doesn't have the personnel to compete in this league at a level that would enable it to slot into the upper half of the BE. 3rd or 4th place. That is ridiculous.

Meh, I'm honestly not concerned if the Big East only gets 3 bids this year (although I think 4 is still probably the number based on the state of the bubble). Last year the B1G got 4 (29%) and the Pac 12 got 3 (25% and currently on pace to get 1 or 2 this year). Power conferences have down years sometimes. Even with that we are still ranked 4th in conference NET. All that aside, next season MU returns literally everyone getting significant minutes and most other BE teams return the majority of their production or bring in a great recruiting class next year. We will be a juggernaut next season, I could even see another 7 bid year as a possibility.
