Providence Friars legend Lenny Wilkens is being honored in Seattle, as they commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Super Sonics NBA Championship. Wilkens is truly one of the nicest guys in sports and so glad he's a Friar. He's an NBA Hall of Famer as a player and as a coach, and was head coach of the 1996 Olympics Dream Team.

Also of note is that Friars legend "Sonar" Joey Hassett (30 year and current radio analyst) was also on that 1979 Sonics team. Seattle had actually lost the 78 Finals in 7 games to the Bullets, but took them down in the rematch in 5 games.

Creighton great Paul Silas was on that Sonics team, as well.
