Let's review Villanova

Tough ending to what was a solid season for the Cats. Baylor is a very tough team this season and they showed it. Anyway, the Cats should be right back in the thick of things as usual

OUT
*Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree
*Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (going pro)
*Cole Swider (transferring to Syracuse)

RETURN
*Justin Moore
*Caleb Daniels
*Brandon Slater
*Bryan Antoine
*Eric Dixon
*Collin Gillespie
*Jermaine Samuels

IN
*Nnanna Njoku
*Jordan Longino
*Angelo Brizzi
*Trey Patterson

As I said, Nova had another very good season that featured a Big East regular season title and an appearance in the Sweet 16. Some might say JRE will go pro and that's certainly a possibility but I will wait until he confirms that. Until then, I'll have him in the "return" column. I like the recruiting class Jay is bringing in as well. Look for Nova to reload next season!
UPDATE: Yup, with Gillespie and Samuels returning. Nova will onRothce again be the team to beat in this league. Jay Wright has built an incredible culture on the Maine Line. Rothstein's early prediction on Nova's starting 5 is Gillespie/Moore/Daniels/Samuels/Dixon

Add Antoine and Dixon to Returns and Trey Patterson to the "IN" group - joined the team early in January and practiced this spring. Played a few minutes.

Fingers crossed to including Keels to the IN group next Sunday.

How Much Will IU Have To Pay Its Next Basketball Coach? - Mike Pudlow, IndianaHQ.com - March 16, 2021
Four coaches are scheduled to make over $5 million this year. The highest-paid coach in college basketball is University of Kentucky’s John Calipari at a base payment of $8 million this season. Calipari is followed by Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski. According to USA Today, Coach K is set to make slightly over $7 million this season.

Villanova’s Jay Wright and Texas Tech’s Chris Beard clock in at the third and fourth positions, making $6.14 million and $5.05 million respectively. Tennessee’s Rick Barnes rounds out the top five at $4.95 million per year.

With two National Championships and a paycheck North of $6 million per year, Jay Wright has a permanent home at Villanova. From his satisfying perspective, there is no greener grass on the other side of the fence –neither in college basketball nor in the NBA.

The elite high school basketball players who have the honor of being offered college scholarships by Jay Wright can accept them with the firm knowledge that Jay will still be coaching the Wildcats many years from now.

I couldn't help but watch Alabama and think how much Villanova could have used Quinerly at the end of this season. He was fantastic.

He was also an ass who didn't fit in with the culture.

2022 4* Mark Armstrong commits to Nova. They've had this kid locked up for a while from what I understand, but good to make it official.

Way-Too-Early Top 25 college basketball rankings for 2021-22 - Jeff Borzello, ESPN – April 6, 2021
Image 7. Villanova Wildcats

This ranking hinges heavily on Collin Gillespie. The All-America-caliber point guard is a senior and could decide his Villanova career is over, but after tearing his MCL and missing his final NCAA tournament, there's a lot of talk that Gillespie could ultimately take advantage of the extra year and return to the Wildcats. The fact he's going to be rehabbing for the next few months and might not get to work out at all for NBA teams could be a factor, too. If Gillespie is back, this is a surefire top-10 team. If he isn't and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl goes pro as expected, then Jay Wright could have some issues. But Justin Moore is back, Caleb Daniels is back, and Brandon Slater and Bryan Antoine showed some promise down the stretch of the season. Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree should also add some physicality down low after missing this past season due to injury. Villanova also brings in a highly touted recruiting class with three top-100 prospects.

Projected starting lineup:

Collin Gillespie (14.0 PPG, 4.6 RPG)
Justin Moore (12.9 PPG)
Caleb Daniels (9.6 PPG)
Brandon Slater (3.8 PPG)
Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree (1.5 PPG in 2019-20)
