Final Four discussion - 2 Big east teams in Final 4

Two Big East teams in the Final 4 speaks to the high level of play throughout the league. Certainly it will be a loss next year without Louisville and Syracuse but the future is so bright for the new league. The A10 will take a step back and the Mountain was a sham this year. I imagine we will be ahead of the PAC12 and SEC and probably be on par with the Big 12 next year.

Is it good or bad for us that the 2 Big East schools in the Final 4 are no longer with us?

Good.

first, it shows how good the teams that battled L'Ville and Cuse all season were
second, it is free "big east" publicity

Anyone else not sad that Boeheim lost?

A-10 loses Xavier, which is tough. Next year will still be 4-5 bids as the other schools battle for position at the exits.

I just want to say.... GO LOUISVILLE

Ok back to reality...

Since you were talking about conference taking a step back i took a look at the early season rankings and etc for next year. There will most likely be 10 multi bid conferences with the A-10 being the biggest dropper and the Pac being the biggest mover.

Most likely outcome ten multi bid conferences 22 single bid conferences. 36 at large bids plus 10 auto bids for the bigs.

B10 ----- 7 teams
ACC -----6 teams
Pac -----6 teams
BE -------5 teams
SEC----- 5 teams
B12----- 4 plus
AAC---- -4 teams
MW -----3 teams
A10 -----2 teams
MV ----- 2

2 bids remaining for what ever upsets may occur- WCC biggest risk for a bubble burst.

If the A-10 gets two bids next year, the "hopefuls" from the A-10 are in big, big trouble.

So far, I would think VCU and SLU would be the probable tourney teams from the A-10 next year.

Why do you say that? One Slu is one of the teams picked to come out of the A-10.
2. the Preliminary Number of NCAA bids does not really show the strength of the conference the A-10 could easily put in 3-4 teams next year.
3. All of this is based on real early premature speculation, no reason to be alarmed.
4. The A-10 will still likely have 8-10 teams in the top 100 RPI and will still be considered a good conference.
5. If anything it only adds to the interest of the BE in expanding they have 2 teams just out side the bubble. Adding 2 more top 100 rpi teams could be whats needed to put one or more teams into the dance.
6. If the BE does expand the A-10 is still the most likely source of any incoming teams.

I was thinking 3-4. Depending on when announcements are made, it's not the best thing to be outside the NCAA. Your other points are 100% accurate. Still wondering if the July 1 date is "in play".
