Ummm how about a couple million rabid cardinal fans.... its easy to say your that good when you can show the hardware to prove it... 7th best next year with the reigning champs returning most of their team.... i think not.

Ah, who's laughing at their top basketball schools? The AAC is dichotic, it can be ranked lower than 5th and still have great teams. It's just humorous to see the clear vote stuffing from a few fans. The poll at the beginning of the day had them at 7, and this is a six day old poll. Looks like it took them 5 hours (looking at that csnbbs thread linked earlier) of vote stuffing to move their conference up to third. That's a handful of people voting over and over, in all likelihood. Hardly some ground breaking situation to internet polls which encourage repetitive voting, you just wonder what good they're trying to accomplish on an old poll. I doubt most of their fans care a whole lot.

edit:To be fair, looks like the Big East may have gotten some vote stuffers going, too. I think our #1 votes more than doubled today and it's certainly taken a jump since I checked 20 minutes ago or so. It's somewhere between silly and stupid. The poll only matters if it's mostly reasonable voting, once there's any campaign it just doesn't matter what the results are. ...so to any Big East fan trying to reclaim 3rd:  , leave it alone.

AAC was 7th this morning but is now up to 5th with a few hundred extra first place votes. ...somebody's stuffing an old poll, today. It must be making the rounds on the forums. Wonder if they have the patience to push it all the way to first.

It's so cute. They're trying sooo hard. ECU fans especially are just adorable.

Hmmm don't kid yourself.... 1/3 of those votes are likely fans of the reigning champions and a school who is a serious contenders for next year. The AAC for one year will be very very good at the top. Likewise i also suggest that 90% of the fans who vote for the SEC at the top are wearing blue... Thats the disadvantage of these kind of polls and staging popularity contests. The large rabid fan bases will slowly swing the pendulum.

As much as its easy to laugh at whats become of the AAC- a conference with the reigning Champions and solid 2014 favs Louisville, with Memphis, UCONN, Temple and CINCY will be a solid conference. 5 potential tourney teams with at least one legit champ contender. That puts the conference above several in my books. While the bottom of the conference might be underwhelming the top is pretty good. Heck i'm not saying that the AAC is the greatest but its tough to sell a conference with 5 realistic NCAA teams with one being the returning champs as the 7th best conference.

I think you missed the part about reading their forum and seeing them discuss their plan of attack for this poll, literally encouraging everyone to vote only 5 (and the worst 4 possible behind them) to drag the rankings of the B1G, ACC, and BE down.

Of course they will be a competitive conference, but seeing ECU fans hooting and hollering about passing the SEC and PAC in a poll is funny.

LOL thats funny because next year ECU is only going to be in a top 10 conference because somehow the CUSA got dragged in over the MVC and WCC. Unless i'm mistaken ECU isn't in the AAC next year but i'm sure there addition in 2014 will equal the loss of Louisville

I missed the ECU fan part lol its especially funny they are voting for a conference they won't be playing in next year! If anyone is curious i voted BE #3 i still value top to bottom competition. I had B10, ACC, BE, AAC, B12 A-10 PAC SEC MTN [WCC] id put CUSA 13th behind the MVC and Ivy next year. I think ranking the conferences 6-9 were pretty tough... but just my humble...

7th is about right. Just above the A-10.

now the American and the A10 are better than awesome people are stuffing this poll like no other.
Coach Al Mcguire:
"I like seashells and balloons, ribbons and medals, bare feet and wet grass."
"When I'm losing, they call me nuts. When I'm winning, they call me eccentric."
"Queen of victory, pray for us."

C-USA shouldn't be on there at all. That's pretty simple.

Not sure why the A-10 is on there either. No reason to rank any conferences below 6, but ESPN must have been bored.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

Looks like all this blog and vote spamming worked for the AAC fans, they got their ESPN football blog back. Kudos to them.
