Yes. I’d be shocked if that happened especially with Tandy signed

On the 247 composite, which is what we've all used thru the years on these threads- he's currently #109.

He's #53 on rivals. If he wasn't an X recruit, stever would be pointing this out, but he hates all things Xavier for whatever reasons.

Fixed that for you. Remember, stever is just an AAAAAAAACCCCC fan trolling as a BEast fan.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

247 has him ranked #40 and rivals has him #53. He's 109 because he's unranked on ESPN. Assuming they will eventually update their rankings I'd expect him to jump significantly. Also, like I said, I think Travis will pull at least one more top 50 level guy. We'll be more than fine recruiting wise under Travis.

Imagine 5 years ago, someone told you:

*Stever would still be arguing against the BE
*Xavier just lost their HC and Stever was arguing against the new HC's recruiting

Ok, so neither of those would be surprising, and the latter a bit concerning. But the full equation:

*Xavier lost their HC to Louisville, after coming off a 1 seed in 2018 and an Elite 8 in 2017
*Xavier isn't even the best team in the conference. That is Nova who just won 2 of the last 3 titles
*Xavier's new coach has a top 10 class in the country
*The argument is that he isn't recruiting five stars, which X has never done

Imagine that. That's reality.

No the argument is that he's not recruiting 40-60 ranked guys like Mack had done.

Also, the year isn't over. It may be #10 right now, but unless they pick up another guy or 2, it won't. Might not even be top 20 when all is said and done. The class doesn't end on November 5. Nice try though.

I've always thought school ranking is kind of silly since quantity is taken into account. I'd rather not be in position of needing 5+ player class.

C’mon Stever you’re making a silly argument. At least be honest with yourself and others.

I said it when Nova had the 30th ranked class and now that they’ve got back to back top 10 classes... recruiting classes and players can’t be judged until a couple of years later. A few cases in point: J Hart & M. Bridges were both 75Ish in their classes. One a lottery pick, the other a first rounder. D DiVencenzo (120ish) and D Hilliard (200+) both made it to the NBA. In the current Nova recruiting class many are saying Saddiq Bey (100+) might be the best of the bunch that includes 3 top 50 players.

Point is recruiting at X remains healthy. That’s what’s important in this debate. 3 years down the road all the X kids could pan out and the L’ville kids flop. Or visa versa. We’ll just have to wait and see. But there is NO denying that whether through new recruits or transfers the BE is getting a tremendous amount of talent year after year. How conveniently you forget that you predicted the football schools to slowly out-recruit and out-perform the BE schools. Didn’t happen. How about you own up to your piss-poor predictions from 5 years ago before rolling out new ones for the next 5.

Well- lets look at the recruiting last year...
Top 40 recruiting classes by confetence coming into CBB.
1. Big Ten-9
2. ACC- 7
3. SEC- 7
4. PAC12-7
5. Big12-6
6. Big East-3

So exactly how well did the Big East do? 20% worse than any other P6 conference.

Honestly, when is enough enough with Stever? It is so tiring. He argues, on a daily basis, with every single Big East fan here and on the other site. He talks **** about posters here on the other site in his little Stever's Thoughts thread that only he updates, and complains about Big East fans (many of us here) in the realignment forum. It is clear he doesn't even like the Big East and all he does is stir the pot promoting and advancing the AAC (which is incredibly ironic because he never visits the AAC board). We don't want this place to turn into the old BE thread where it was just constantly attacked and criticized by football-playing, P5-dreaming, G5-locked schools. Enough is enough already.
