There aren’t 25 teams better than Butler right now. Whenever it happens, it happens. It’s kind of irrelevant

Might; although a win for Buffalo tonight over West Virginia may when combined with their upset last year of Arizona put them in the top 25- though Buffalo is down 4 with a minute to go.

Another one that was close to Marquette who has had 2 good wins is Indiana.

This was on post delay, so just saw it.

Yes, Buffalo has a chance to pass Marquette. Indiana isn't passing Marquette lol. They beat two nobodies this week, and Marquette is 26 points ahead.

Marquette will be either #25 or #26 tomorrow.

New AP poll-

Villanova- #8 (+1)
Marquette- #24 (+2)

West Virginia dropped to #26 (from #13), which I thought was possible given it's the first week. Marquette stayed 1 vote ahead of Buffalo.

RV-
#42 Butler- 4
#46 SJU- 2
#46 Xavier- 2

Great job by Marquette! They're a key piece towards the league taking another big step forward.

Looking at the week ahead, it's going to be tough to retain 2 spots in the AP:

#8 Nova plays vs #18 Michigan & vs Furman
#24 Marquette plays @ #27 Indiana & vs Presbyterian

Nova needs to win 1/2 to stay ranked. Losing one would probably push them back 10 spots or so.

Marquette probably needs to win both, which will be tough given that Indiana will be favored.

Despite us playing 10 football five teams this week, none of the wins would be flashy enough to propel an unranked BE team into the rankings. That said, this week will still be extremely important long term.

Hopefully we can keep two teams ranked this week, a few RV, and set up for a big Thanksgiving tournament week next week.

Providence could be interesting this week if they can beat both South Carolina and Michigan- and have Wichita do well in the Charleston Classic.

I read on vuhoops article that it's the first time in 36 years that no Big East teams are ranked. The conference needs some big wins before conference play.
