On Thanksgiving, Southern Illinois lost to UMass 84-62.

Big East hasn't had a bad day in weeks, one of only a couple conferences that can say that.

Love seeing VCU win at Texas. For one, it's good for SJU. Two, awesome seeing them beat Shaka.

I watched a bit of the Gonzaga game, and if they had played like that against us, we would have won. Washington played well,(better than Creighton on defense) but Gonzaga looked disinterested. Two of the three players who torched us had terrible games. That is why comparison scores are a bad way to predict future outcomes. I expect Gonzaga will be more focused this weekend.

scoscox - your guess was quite reasonable, but not correct in this instance, as I posted the Saint Louis game result for two different reasons:

1. There are many recent posts about Saint Louis on the Why Not 14? thread - including a number of posts made by Xavier fans. This led me to believe that the board (and some Xavier fans) have a genuine interest in Saint Louis.

2. The Billikens getting waxed by the Salukis reinforces the credibility of Post #28 on this thread.

The A10 blows.

The 'best team' in the A10 should at least be competitive with Southern Illinois, who led Saint Louis 53-41 before coasting to the win.

UMass lost on their homecourt to lowly Howard University, but still blew out Southern Illinois without any bother - not a good omen for Saint Louis.
