Not sure a hard fought loss on the home court of one of the top teams in conference is SJU shooting themselves in the foot. Two evenly matched teams. I think Paschall and Booth just willed Nova to the win tonight. It was a fun regular season BE slugfest. I don't think it is that hard to pick SJU as a favorite to win the conference. They have the talent to be scary good when they are on.

Up five with 4:00 to go and not scoring again over a three minute span while giving up a 10-0 run to go 5 down with less than a minute to go with no ball movement and taking low percentage contested shots when you had a chance to go into Philly and come out of there with a win, and whe all you had to do was keep your head together and do what got you to that point to close out the game is most definitely shooting yourself in the foot.

Good game tonite, didn't think we were going to pull that one out until the very end. The Johnnies have a very good team this year. They have 3 or 4 seed type talent imo, not sure the committee will reward them with that, but they have that kind of team. As others have said, their only weakness seems to be depth and size. They sure can score points in bunches and play good D.

Hard to buy the "ran out of gas" argument for St. John's when Paschall played 40 minutes & Booth played 39 for Nova.

I don’t think St. John’s runs out of gas physically. I think they run out of gas mentally. Towards the end they just stop paying attention to detail and doing what got them there.

Yeah you're right. Up 5 with 4:00 to go. Let's see what happens next. Oh yeah, Phil "clutch" Booth hits two dagger 3's, with a hand in his face both times, to take the lead. That's clearly "the Johnnies shooting themselves in the foot." Nova missed 4 FT's in the final 2 minutes or it could have been worse. Missing 4 FT's in the final 1:48 is actually "shooting yourself in the foot."

Nova has lost 1 BE game in the Pavillion in the last 5 years...1 (to Butler two years ago). It's a tough place to play. It's also 40 minute game. So Nova playing tight defense is not a factor becasue it's the last 4:00 minutes? St Johns made runs, Nova made runs. But let's stop with the narrative that this game was about SJU losing. Nova played pretty well down the stretch and Mr. Booth and Co. had a little bit to do with that.
Go Nova!

Outstanding game. The rematch at the Garden is going to he amazing. Difference at the end was Phil Booth drilling a couple of contested threes. Top level talent on both teams and each can make deep runs in March.

Also, thx to whoever tipped his hat to 40-minute Bryce Cotton!

Just finished watching the game. Bummed we lost but Nova is clutch. There were stretches where both teams looked unstoppable. Congrats Nova fans and hopefully, we get some payback at MSG!

Most surprising thing was that there wasn’t a Mayhem post calling for Mullin to be fired, blah, blah, blah....I guess he may still be putting it together.

Think this is actually a pretty big win for Nova. Can't afford many home losses with 4 OOC losses. Definitely need some wins to start building the seed for the tourney.

I think for the league, this is probably the needed result actually....

Had to! Excluding SJU players he may be my favorite college player ever, and that senior year he has, unreal. When they lost to UNC after the performance he had, I almost shed a tear and I’m a St. John’s fan... he just had a way of grabbing your heart with how he competed

This loss is on Mullin.
He thinks it's still last year when we had no bench. Why 5minutes for Keita, and nothing in the 2nd half?
Why no Williams, but Trimble gets 27minutes? wtffffffff

We need to use the bench more.
