No, PC's luck, they foul but guy from Georgetown gets shot off anyways, makes it, and makes the free throw to win by 1 :)

So the Sunday NET's are out....

yesterdays games (yesterday-today)
Providence 93-98
Georgetown 105-101

Seton Hall 45-39
Marquette 20-20

DePaul 123-91
St John's 26-37

going into today's 2 games

Villanova 30
Creighton 52

Butler 46
Xavier 78

will be interesting to see how much Creighton and Butler get hurt from the losses. Butler from losing to a team 32 spots behind them, Creighton losing by 12 at home. Definitely as well to see how high Nova can get.

Would be nice if we could play G'Town without Govan, Nova without Booth, Marquette without Howard, etc. DePaul lucked out on that one. Would've still been close but couldn't see us losing at home with him there. St. John's is a cursed program that reaches a peak and makes a beeline back to the ground. Every time. Immediately...they never sustain any high level of performance. That's on coaching IMO.

So true lol. Only been ranked twice in the past 7 or so years, and both times sucked.

Lavin's final year: got ranked after beating Syacuse... beat a cupcake or two to finish OOC play... then went 0-3 to start BE play and lost the ranking.

I don't want Ponds to carry Mullin to a contract extension, and then we have to deal with several more years of mediocrity after he leaves. Mullin needs to prove himself now, with Ponds out or less than 100%. If Ponds being out a few games is enough to tank the season, then good we absolutely need to know that to avoid a disaster the next 2-3 years.

As I've said since the start of the season, if St. John's doesn't make the Tournament then that's 100% on Mullin and we'd need to immediately get a new coach.

Totally agree re Mullin. He also seems to be losing it mentally. In the post game press conference he basically said we get BS calls anyway, so we might as well start hitting opponents in the neck so they don't get up. I know he's one of ours...a rugged, straight talking New Yorker. But that to me shows he's at his wits end. Everyone hates losing but Mullin despises it as a former player.

We've had awful luck...Lavin getting cancer after getting us back on the map, finally getting back to the tourney in 2014-2015 and Obepka was caught smoking a joint and was suspended right before the tourney game which we got blown out because of, Jordan being an accomplice to murder after showing lots of potential, a top big man recruit who turned out to be a transgender female, DeLaRosa getting into a locker room fight and leaving, Keith Thomas having his transcripts faked, LoVett getting hurt last year then quitting the team leading to an 0-11 streak, Owens transferring, Brooks decommitting, refs giving SHU a win on a ridiculous call, now Ponds and LJ both hurt and losing because of it against DePaul at home to go to 2-3.

We've been through so much BS and if Ponds and Clark go out without ever playing a tourney game, Mullin should get on the plane back to Cali.

I also would like more information on this one.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Zach Brown. He was a former top recruit who got arrested a few times so we released him (among other reasons, as noted by MM).

Nah, no excuses. If we can't get to 10+ BE wins, with or without Ponds, then consider it a blessing. Mullin won't be brought back if we don't make the Tournament and we'd be better off in the future.

I'm not giving up on Mullin quite yet, but we have to consider life without Ponds next year. This is year 4 of Mullin and anything less than 10 BE wins would be unacceptable.

Actually I don't even care about wins or losses, my only concern is making the NCAA tournament.
But, year you're right, to do that, we need 10+ wins.

Sticking with my 11-7 prediction. Must win for sju, and creighton's. It should be a dogfight.
