Huge win as we were running out of gas. I'm sorry but the refs were atrocious all game. Marquette will be fine...we needed this badly. We now have a clear cut 3rd place team. Give Marquette credit for not hanging their heads...blowout turned into a nailbiter by the end. Almost made fullcourt shot too jeez.

We were called for tic tacs and they were hacking our guys driving with no calls for 80% of the game. A Marquette player also flopped badly in the final minute when Ponds drove to score the go-ahead layup. I'm actually shocked they didn't call an offensive foul the way the game was being called much of the game prior. I'm not putting it all on the refs because we went into our own scoring lulls as we ran out of energy late, but the refs certainly helped Marquette get back in the game. At one point I think we were called for 19 or 20 fouls while Marquette had 9. That would make sense if we weren't driving but we were. They seemed to be more fair in the final minutes thankfully.

This win was huge for the conference...Indiana just beat #6 MSU and they were one of the last teams in like us, so this puts us in a good spot. Finally clawed back to .500, now let's see if we can get some level of consistency and beat some teams at home. I want to pay back Butler and it looks like Tucker has come back down to earth. He played the game of his life against us and nothing against others. We now need G'Town, Creighton, or SHU to step up and string together some wins to be in good position for the 4th bid. Maybe we get 5 by another team winning the BET.

yeah saw Rob Dauster(sp?) mentioning that last night- definitely looked like he would have easily drawn the foul.

Man, what a huge win on so many levels. When Marquette kept hitting 3s at the end I nearly lost it after we blew the 15 point lead. This team is such a crazy emotional roller coaster.

Good game, Johnnies. You have our number this year. Hopefully, we have an opportunity to get you guys a third time in a few weeks at the Garden.

At this point, SJ fans should just expect that nothing this team will do will be easy, but - on any given night - they can compete and beat anyone. They are a dangerous team if everything is clicking (especially having a star like Ponds). The Red Storm desperately needed this win, and the Golden Eagles can be benefited by a game like this in the long-run.
