Good win MU. You deserved it. We had the ball with a chance to win but it wasn’t meant to be. We’ll see you in a few weeks.

Booth was amazing the last five minutes and hit that mid range floater the possession before, I’m shocked he didn’t pull up and hit when he had that space.

Hate to see the call on samuels, but nova still had their chance. I feel like 8/10 times Booth pulls up and hits That shot, just didn’t happen today

Great game. Happy we were able to survive for a win on National Marquette Day. I anticipate a split with Nova once we head to Philly later this season. Howard had a devastating turnover at the end, and he actually should have been called for a foul by diving at the legs for a loose ball. Impactful non-call (as was the call on Samuels for over the back on Howard). Booth is something else. Terrific gamer.

A huge tip of the hat to Villanova. They are still the elite class of the conference. Their program is a shining example for our schools to follow. While we won today, the conference still goes through Villanova until the Big East Tournament, and even then - the March success that Villanova has earned is a high-bar for other programs like Marquette to try and match.

I cannot wait to see what the ratings are for the game. It was an amazing game.

samuels call was BS, but Roundtree clearly did push off on morrow and even the announcers agreed. Right call, wrong player.

PS.....Howard goofed up in the St. John's game with the defender totally in the air and the game on the line under 10 seconds....Instead of standing there and taking the 3 point foul.....He dribbles around him for an acrobatic 3......

Learning experience for both teams......Both will only be stronger because of it.....

Who would this have put on the line? Anyone other than Howard, a 92% free throw shooter, would have been better for VU.

While I always disappointed with a loss, I was thrilled with the way the game finished after VU was down 47-32 at one point. Booth was awesome down the stretch. The only thing I can think of regarding the last play was he never expected to be open so close to the basket that he was already planning to pass it elsewhere and ended up with the defenders in a position he didn't expect them to be.

I also thought Marquette was going to run away with that game when they were up 47-32. They couldn't miss to start the 2nd half, good come back by the Cats. Would've be nice to have someone other than Howard on the line after that foul on Samuels or getting a call after the Bey steal, but it is what it is. We still had a very good chance to pull that one out. I think Booth was shocked to be that wide open the last possession, both perimeter defenders just up and left him.

What I’ve learned about Marq is you have to face MH and deny him the ball; Sacar A is much better than I thought; and Theo is dumber than he is tough.

From the Purdue game last year and their 7'4" center Haas......Theo John is the strongest player I have played in college basketball......

No denying he is pretty tough.....No denying he does some pretty dumb things.....

But I like having him "under our basket".....

Because when you play whatever version of "BIG XXXX" those farm boys do not take prisoners.....

Marquette in previous years has been "bullied" in the Big East.....By Mich St.....By Purdue.....By Wisconsin.....By any number of other teams.....

That $tuff does not happen any more......

Retribution in kind......

It would've put Morrow on the line, 70% FT shooter. Not the guaranteed points that Markus is but by no means is it a coin flip like Anim or John are are the line.
