Nova is putting themselves into position to see a team like Kentucky the first weekend.

Ugh, Xavier playing spoiler after their awful OOC performance (along with half the conference lol). At least we were able to play Nova when they were still ranked.

so it'll be interesting to see if Nova is out of the top 30 for NET after today. They were 27 so you would think they will be. So that would take Q1 wins from Marquette, St John's, and Georgetown. Not a huge deal for Marquette and St John's but for Georgetown that's big.

The other thing that will be tough for the league is that Nova now is probably firmly a 7 or 8 seed. They're going to need to win those Butler and Seton Hall games that could help those get into the tourney just to try to work their way back up out of the 7-8 line, even if they beat Marquette.

No hard feelings to Xavier or Georgetown. Just an unfortunate reality of the conference having lots of young teams that will keep improving throughout the season. It'll hurt our seedings and tourney representation, but so be it if it bodes well for next season.

That’s a good point. The extra rest before the NCAAs could do wonders for them. People talk about how nova is down this year but if Paschall and Booth are both hot you could win a couple of games in March and then you never know

I've seen struggling teams get it together for the tournament for a S16 orvE8 run. Can't predict this stuff except maybe 8/9 seeds. Fairly deep 16 and 18 Nova teams aside, this conference does have a track record of BET finalists disappointing in the NCAA Tournament.

I can never root against our guys, but I'm really hoping for a surprise bid thief.

true about BET finalists-
14- Providence over Creighton. Providence loses R64 to UNC Creighton loses R32 to Baylor
15- Nova over Xavier. Nova loses R32 to NC State. Xavier loses R16 to Arizona
16- Seton Hall over Nova. Seton Hall loses R64 to Gonzaga. Nova wins title
17- Nova over Creighton. Nova loses R32 to Wisconsin. Creighton loses R64 to Rhode Island
18- Nova over Providence. Nova wins title. Providence loses R64 to Texas A&M

So the 2 title teams, but then outside of that 1 sweet 16, and 4 1st round exits. The 8 other teams with exactly 5 tourney wins. So 17 wins for the 10 teams in the BET finals.

But would also note that the other 18 teams that made the tourney but didn't make the BET final only have won 14 tourney games in the 5 years. So not exactly better at all.

Shocked to see Nova on a skid. Just doesn't happen much with such amazing coaching and consistency. Credit Xavier...they are red hot and they are not used to being the whipping boy...you can tell. Even in a rebuilding year, they won't back down to anyone.

Dropped 1 spot to #28. Ignoring the BET, if we drop below 30, it'll have been due to ticket clinching wins by Seton Hall or Butler.

I could see a home loss to Marquette possibly dropping 3 spots. It'll be interesting if the conference report comes out again today which has the actual NET ratings and not just the ordinal rating.
