St. John's should be able to lock themselves in with a win today. They are soooo close to being a lock, but if they lose out, I don't think they get in. One more win is needed, and this is likely the easiest chance they'll get. DePaul isn't the pushover they've usually been, but still, if you're a tournament team, you need to be able to win this game.

Must win, have to, whatever you want to call it. I agree that there is absolutely zero excuses for the Johnnies today. They need 1 more win to get in. If they lose out they do not deserve an at large and they most likely will not get it.

Then can Mullin and get a real X's and O's coach in here. He's clueless on the sideline and so is his staff.

Ugly game so far. Lots of fouls. SJU up 9. Desperately need to hold on to lock up a bid. Very nervous.

ST John's is so hard to watch. I can't imagine being a fan. They have no excuse for being down to DePaul. They are so much more talented top to bottom. As soon as one thing goes wrong, they just lose all composure. So undisciplined.

Could not agree more. Sadly, I’ve become so used to this over the years, I don’t even get that upset anymore. My original hope for the season was to simply avoid playing Wednesday night in the BET. Looks like we won’t even achieve that goal.

No leadership starting with the sidelines.

They are surely back on the bubble now. What's most disturbing is that it's pretty clear that even if they make the dance, they are not a program that looks like they can reach the "next level" under this staff, meaning the kind of program that is ranked regularly, and makes runs in the tournament. Instead, they look like the kind of program that pops up with a decent team every 4 or 5 years, but doesn't make any real noise before having to rebuild. I'm not sure the program is in any better shape than it was under Lavin.
