This Fox triple header has been exciting to watch.

Congrats to Hall, Gtown for winning big games.

I would love to see Georgetown win a couple of games in the BET and get itself into the NCAA tourney

I'm hoping Johnies pull out a win against X

Sorry, but we're pretty solid when it comes to protecting our Cintas Center record.

The grad transfers - Welage and Castlin, in particular - went out of the regular season in style.

Congrats to the Hall and Hoyas.

Georgetown's win helps the conference, should make them a Q1 win now. Hall punches their ticket, atleast guarantees 3 bids.

I think things are pretty clear now. Nova, Marquette, and Seton Hall are in. Barring a miracle run, Butler, DePaul, and PC are out. The others have varying levels of work to do. St. John's must win their next game. A loss sends them to the NIT. A win should get them in, maybe. X and Georgetown may get in with a win. An opening loss probably will eliminate them. CU needs to win tonight, and then add at least one more. Five bids is probably the max we can expect, and someone will be in Dayton, maybe two. On the other side, the late slides by Nova, and Marquette put us at risk for an early exit by the league. Their openers will now be dangerous, and if they win they will face Final Four contenders in their second game. I'll never sell Nova short, but I don't expect Marquette to survive the first weekend. They could help their cause by both reaching the final of the BET, which might allow the winner to avoid falling to a 6th or even 7th seed.

If Seton Hall were to win the BET, would they have the top seed of any Big East team?

For the 10th time, fire Mullin. 32 games under .500 in conference play, never finished even within 1 game of .500 any of the 4 years. Zero development and plenty of regression. Refusal to recruit bigs, refusal to rebound, and Ponds is vastly overrated and won't get drafted. Doesn't have it between the ears. Sorry not sorry. What an embarrassment at the hands of all these nothing special teams in a year we were supposed to take care of business. Anyone who says coaching in college doesn't matter is an idiot. Watch us as a case study. Best roster talent wise and 2 games under .500. Don't give me any of these "but" and "if" and "pump the brakes a bit". He's done.

I'm a little concerned that the Pirates just played themselves up to 8-9 line for the 3rd year in a row. But considering some brackets still have them out completely and ESPN's bubble watch still lists them as having "work to do," maybe they can still slip in with a more manageable 11 or 12 seed.

And to answer your question, I know we're going a ways back here, but last time Seton Hall won the Big East tournament it didn't appear to impact their seed much at all. And I vaguely remember reading that across the board the committee didn't appear to heavily consider conference tournaments.

No, the Hall can't catch Nova under any circumstance. Nova can't slip below a 6-7 seed, and Seton Hall can't climb above 8-9.

DePaul at Creighton ==> Creighton appears to have the easiest path to 9-9, but Max Strus is on a roll.
St. John's at Xavier ==> Huge game. Both teams need to win to finish at 9-9. The loser of this game will finish at 8-10.

#23 Villanova (13-5) 22-9

Seton Hall (9-9) 18-12

Providence (7-11) 17-14
DePaul (7-11) 15-14

Congratulations to Georgetown, Seton Hall, Creighton, and Xavier for getting the job done in ‘must win’ games.

Good luck to all in the Big East Tournament.

Anyone looking at just the score would think Creighton had a fairly easy time with DePaul last night. Not the case at all. After the first 9 minutes, DePaul played really well and was within 3 fairly late. It took a near miracle shooting night from Mitch Ballock to win (11-12 from 3). DePaul is a tough out! Whoever emerges from the 7-10 and 8-9 games in the BE tournament will give Nova and Marquette tough matchups. The toughest for those games since the reconfiguration!
