Big East Tourney Prediction - Marq/Nova vs the field

I’ll take the field. They may be far and away the top 2 seeds, but there’s a team in the conference 3-1 against them so i think they can and will be taken down

The problem for St John's is they'll have that 3/6 or 4/5 game to deal with against a team they've lost to already almost for sure.

Seton Hall
St. John's
Butler
Georgetown

We lost to Butler and Georgetown.... but we also beat Butler and Georgetown. So that argument cancels out. Glass half empty vs half full, get it?

Seton Hall we "lost" to away (we deserved to win), and still have yet to play them at home.

We would almost certainly be favored against all 3 of those teams (or worst case scenario, a coin flip), so I don't see how anybody could be pessimistic about those match ups. We're talking about 3/4 vs 5/6 match ups here, not 1/2 vs 9/10. If you can go into the 3/4/5/6 games favored by a point or two, as St. John's is more likely to than not, then that's great.

Nobody is saying St. John's is the favorite to win it all, but we certainly look to have a far better shot than in previous years. It's a special year for us and the Garden will be rocking in favor of the Johnnies for most (if not all) of our BET games.

I'm Marquette's biggest fan right now. if they go 16-2 in conference that looks really good on the johnnies part and could help them with seeding on selection sunday

All year people have said the top 3 teams are Villanova, Marquette and St John’s but they are entering postseason coming off of very shaky stretches. So the field is wide open
