I agree that the last call on Naji should’nt have been called. He should have swallowed that whistle to be honest. But it didn’t affect who won or lost. Would you have wanted that game to be decided with 2 foul shots with no time on the clock? And Naji i fouling out might have helped X as he was 1-12 for the night.
The refs didn’t miss a critical FT like Hankins did. And they didn’t keep Samuels from making that 3, and they didn’t fail to box out Paschall on the follow. So please enough of the refs gave Nova the game. Wah! Wah! Wah!

3. Take away what should have been a no call that really didn’t affect the outcome (and shouldn’t have). Nova made clutch plays when they needed to. X didn’t. That’s the story of the game.

Naji was definitely not all the way back in game shape. His defense was great though. Despite his offense we need him out there because he can check 1-5.
I'll give you that nova made the plays down the stretch, but the no call could've and should've been a block. naji was in the air when gillespie slid over and thats a dangerous play where they have to protect the shooter. we didn't make the plays down the stretch but that was an abysmal call and ended up fouling him out.
GumbyDamnit! wrote:I agree that it wAs a terrible call. In that spot you let the players decide. Just should have been a no call.

1. He shouldn’t have made that call

4. It sucks when you have a lot at stake in March but X has no one to blame but themselves.
- Up 7 with the ball with 4:00 to play Welage shoots an airball
- still up 7 with 3:15 to play X has a shit clock violation after a 25 foot Goodin fade-away 3
- up 4 with 2:30 Naji has Scruggs wide open in the corner but decides to hold it and then chucks a 25 ft brick
- 2:00 mins to play up 2 Scruggs gets to the rim and misses a layup
- 1:00 to play X up 4, and Hankins completely leaves Samuels and allows a wide open 3
- 20 seconds to play and Hankins misses a FT
- 8 seconds and both Scruggs and Naji have position but let Paschall go right past them for the tying tip i
- In OT X allows Nova to have a 5 pt possession because of offensive rebs.; next Nova possession another O board
- Scruggs wide open airball 3
- On the other end another wide open 3 from Samuels; first 3 Nova possessions in OT = 10 pts.
- 45 secs to go down 3 Goodin throws it 10 feet over a wide open Hankins undert the basket. Ballgame.
But yeah, it’s the refs.
I get it. 2-12 since the league formed has to be frustrating. But you guys lost this game on your own.
scoscox wrote:Didn't say it was. I have only mild issues with the refs. I think we could've gotten a friendlier whistle, but you have to overcome that and we couldn't. We needed our best player and he just didn't have it tonight.
Let's talk instead about that sequence where paschall punched on hankins, hankins punched on samuels, and then tyrique punched on samuels on the fast break.... whew. this was a big boy game.
