Seemed like a good portion of the crowd was local VU alums/fans. I would imagine the SHU game was somewhat similar. Also a lot of Duke alums in NYC, so those games must have a large Duke alum contingent. Then the midwest teams seem to get to play at Carnesseca mostly (I think you guys played all the Midwest teams, including Top 20 Marq., there last year, right?).
Anyway, may not be germane to this discussion and I don't doubt that there are a lot of SJU fans in NY b/c of the size of the school and the sheer amount of people in metro NYC. But how much does the fact that NYC is such an awesome destination for an away game, and so convenient for fans of some of the schools in the NEast to get to, affect SJU MSG attendance? Any guess on % of visiting fans that come in and fill out the stands as a result?

I'd be willing to see the Johnnies as a top tier conference team for 3-4 years...just to see if all this BS would actually play out in real time.
Got a sneaking hunch that NYC isn't as great of an advantage as MM and Redman suggest. Go Johnnies.

What has Creighton ever done? It's super easy to get fans to show up for a team when they are one of the few entertainment options available in that state.
