I'm sorry, but this is not 1979 any more. college basketball doesn't drive the bus. It just doesn't. It's signing a death certificate. And, a split will require dissolving the conference, which will cost the cyo schools a lot of money. I easily see Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Notre Dame telling them that if you don't dissolve, you will never get in the ACC. Those teams have something like 11 million dollars in hoops units just for 2014...."

Third quote - "(to an ECU fan) We were here first you go form you're own conference. Just call it CUSA. You guys are familiar with that name right?"

Bonus points for 4th quote - "BEeast should have added SLU,Wichita,Illinois State -- combined w/Marquette/Depaul for MW division"

Funny to see so many names I forgot about, but I'm not surprised. This site had a lot of issues in the early days. My original account (Adoraz11) I somehow got completely locked out of so I started this new account (Adoraz). After that for several years I was never able to save or change my password (was given a manual one I had to copy/paste each time), and the mobile view had a lot of issues. Shame because I think we lost a ton of people along the way. The site hasn't really evolved either, but at least it is much more stable now.

Surprisingly, it seems most major conferences don't have active message boards (for the conferences themselves- excluding individual team boards). I did a search for ACC and B1G message boards and I couldn't find any more active that Holy Land (despite football starting up). For the Big 12 I couldn't find ANY message boards. The American seems to have the most active conference message board (CSN). I think there are 2 reasons for this:

1. CSN has the most active conference realignment board, and most AAC fans want to move to a Power conference. For this reason they place a ton of emphasis on conference affiliation, while ACC and B1G fans are completely content with where they are at and only really focus on their own team.
2. A lot of American fanbases don't have active team message boards, such as Redmen or Boneyard. Redmen for instance is about 10X more active than Holy Land, and Boneyard even more than that.

Anyways, I was pretty surprised to see the message board stats for these conferences, but it makes sense when you think about it. I think the Big East is in a good spot because we appreciate our conference and don't take it for granted (reflected in our #1 attended conference tournament despite losing so many big brands), but at the same time we aren't trying to move to another conference.
