Ha to be totally honest I thought that was absurdly high for you guys. No offense. Top 15? Okay. #6? Ehh idk

I agree. Katz made it pretty clear that he thinks Powell is one of if not the best player in the country. I sure hope he's right.

Anyway, if they are that good they'll have some chances early on to prove it. 1st game at the Rock will be against #1 Michigan State and then they head down to the Bahamas with a loaded Atlantis field.

Correct???? Granted, I see all things through X BLUE spectacles but what am I missing here? Aside from this being Lunardi.....Nova a 2 seed, Creighton a 3? Which is more ridiculous? Someone please help me to understand why X is not at the top (or damn close) to all of these predictions.....4 returning upperclassmen with ALL BEast potential and future professionals to boot, along with a polished/seasoned transfer and kick ass freshman class. Where is the perceived weakness?

Over-reliance on freshmen. If they're able to produce at a high level from day 1, X will be very good. If not, they'll still be pretty good due to their starters but depth will be a problem. So while they could compete for the top spot, that's too big of a question mark for me to pick them higher than 3rd at the moment. The same argument could be made against Nova, but they've earned the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Lunardis order is fubar but I agree those 7 teams should all be preseason picks to go dancing, and several to get past the first weekend. I also think Butler with Baldwin and McDermott, DePaul with Cain and all those talented fresh,The Johnnies with Heron and Figueroa all have a shot as well. Going to be a helluva year and it will be fun to be rooting for UCONN to boot doncha know!

I think that’s a little overblown. The top 6 guys in our rotation will be seniors and juniors. Yes the rest will be freshman but I’d say we’d rely on them to fill maybe 15 to 20 minutes a game. Not exactly reliant.plus they’re all mostly four star guys and should be able to contribute quickly.

7 is a great number even if it is 4 8 seeds and 3 9 seeds. That would be disappointing but we'd still have 7 teams that could spend the off-season selling kids on "we went to the tournament last year and you're the missing piece this year." I think that can be very compelling for a young player.

At the risk of sounding cocky, I think MU might be on the verge of being "back." If we get in the tournament this year that is 3 out of 4, and I really think we have a chance to get a win or two this year. Now that Wojo has things moving in a relatively consistent direction, going forward I expect 3 of 4 years to be the minimum and a deep run on occasion. I obviously don't expect to dominate the league or anything, but I think our return to relevance is nearly complete.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Lukas Harkins has an excellent piece on Nova. He really needs those season tickets and he has earned them. Gumby couldn't have done better Homerism than old Lukas. Lol

Go Nova. And go buy some defense, you're gonna need it.

Cain is gone, I think you mean Paul Reed. I was waiting for the Demon fan to say something, but he must be on vacation.

GTMO, you are back to once again doubting the Cats... I feel much better now, the universe is back in alignment!

I did think the article was well written and did in fact highlight where we will / may have trouble. The one thing he did not do was focus more on Samuels. I have a sneaking suspicion he will be a force... All BE. This is really going to be an interesting year in the league. So much parity, so many good teams. there is not an "off" night in the entire schedule, every team will present problems. I suspect there will be multiple teams in the Tourney with seeds of 6 and better. Don't think there will be any 1's.

GTMO, liked your comment on the article too!!!

He's a Butler guy, but none of us seem to hate Nova very much. Only root against them when we play them.

I know it pains you to see the chamber reloaded year after year Git. But in a "down" year, Nova wins both the BE reg season and BET and wins a tourney game. Oh the horror for us fans to endure a season well below normal expectations. :D

I know a lot of people are focused on the incoming Frosh, and there is certainly a lot to be excited about, but I'm looking forward to see what some of the returning talent does. What is underestimated most about JW is how he develops good players into great players. 2-3 players are going to take big steps forward, because that is what always happens, year after year. Who's it gonna be? Saddiq B. 6'8", can shoot and play inside or out. Samuels, 6'7", same. Swider's 6'8", can stroke it. Slater 6'7" and long, mini-Bridges. Add to JRE and Dixon and yikes... One or several of these guys are going to surprise. It's a big, long team who can shoot and guard multiple positions. Going to enjoy watching Mitchy-poo and Tay-Shaawwwnn try to shoot over those long wing players.

And to be clear, is a Jays fan going to really preach to another fan base about defense?   Luv ya back.
Go Nova!
