Re: Nova I have a tough time putting any Frosh-dominant tandem/grouping near the top b/c we just don’t know how they will adjust to the college game. We’ve been known for our guards for so long but honestly our team strength this year will be the length, versatility and talent on the wings and upfront IMO. I wouldn’t be surprised to see J Samuels play that 2G role at times (which is interesting b/c he played the 4 role for the BE in the Pan Am games). Gillespie-Samuels-Bey-Swider-JRE.

Samuels seeing any consistent minutes at the 2 seems far fetched but JW would try something like that if he can't get solid production out of Moore....have no idea if Arch 2.0 is ready.

From the outside looking in, I am predicting IF Swider doesn't get some traction from day 1 and your freshman take significant minutes from him, you may have another transfer situation on your hands. I know he had some sort of problem physically but was deemed healthy enough to get in games. When he did he looked a step slow and a bit overwhelmed....numbers not good.

I'm going to put on the Nova version of the GTMO tin foil hat of positivity for this post in regards to this upcoming season, here goes.

J Samuels makes a Darrun Hillard type of junior year leap, S Bey makes a Josh Hart type of soph. year leap, JRE has a Brunson type freshman year, all while CG continues his Archie 2.0 ish career arc. Everyone else finds their role and shows some flashes of major talent.

Geez Westy, that's enough tin foil for you, Gumby, and the rest of Radnor Township. Easy fella!

...and for those who hate pointy hats...

Busting Brackets has ranked the BE coaches for this year. Surprisingly, Mac is rated number 2, behind Jay Wright. I had expected him to land at 4 or 5.

DePaul University and Dave Leitao are in negotiations over a multi-year extension, per a release. The extension would be through the 2023-24 season.

Recruiting has gotten better but no results yet.....

I can think of 5 or 6 city and surrounding suburban basketball coaches that'd be better than him at this point. And to be honest at least a couple CPS schools that the players are better as well.

Wait, why no love for our Bluejays, Gitmo? Don't they know we have our entire starting back court back, plus a 4 star sophomore center who will be a star if he can just get over those injuries? Don't they know we are going to run everyone into the ground with our 4 guard offense? Don't they know those 6'8" and 6'9" loafers around the league won't be able to keep up with us? We don't need to worry about rebounding. And, defending those bigger 3s and 4s around the league won't be an issue, because we will just outscore everyone with all our fire power. I read it on bluejay underground. Oh is this league in for a surprise. Those haters at CBSSports be damned. :D

I think down the road, he may be the guy, but selfishly...it is a lot of time away from the team.
