How many potential NBA'ers will your squad have this year

I read the Paint Touches article from the thread about current NBA'ers from our current Big East members http://holylandofhoops.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2545&sid=08fb4bf5fa92f48a123bacf1b30445f3 Then I thought to myself "cool, but how much does it matter." The strength and viability of the BE is going to be based on how things play out going forward not from really looking backwards. Putting players in the league is going to be a major factor in that determination along with recruiting, NCAA bids, ff4's, ships, etc. So I was wondering where our conference stands at the moment from that point of view. I would included incoming freshman on the list too given that potential alone maybe enough to get them drafted next season (JuJuan Johnson or Rysheed Jordan perhaps)

As for SHU, I believe 6-6 SG Fuquan Edwin has a legit shoot at the NBA. He's a one-man plague on defense and has tremendous range on his shot. John Rothstein took in a practice at the Hall on Wednesday and had this tho add about Edwin:

"Gotta put Seton Hall's Fuquan Edwin on my list of "least appreciated players". Guy has had a heck of a career + is rarely talked about."

My longshot on the squad is Jr. PF Brandon Mobley. At 6-9 dude is the definition of a stretch four and with his range maybe he can find a niche in the league like former LaSalle sniper Rasual Butler.

Rothstein had this to say about Mobley:

"Brandon Mobley is a critical piece for Seton Hall. Has big time ability as a stretch four. Still recovering from last yr's shoulder injury."

Jajuan Johnson I don't see as leaving after one year Buzz rarely relies on freshmen and we have experience at every position. Jamil Wilson I can see in the mid second round Otule unfortunately has a glass eye and is injury prone so teams won't touch him and davante Gardner it's possible pending on how conditioned he looks at the end of the year. Most our potential is in Steve Taylor and the freshmen. Like I said in the other thread Lazar Hayward will likely get called up from the Dleague as well.

Xavier is still young as hell so we have a lot of unknowns. That being said, Semaj is pretty much a lock for the NBA.

If quette makes another NCAA run like last year or even further, I think Wilson could easily be a first rounder maybe even a lottery pick. (based on his likely role) He has all the physical metrics & tools. I think Vander would had that same potential if he was on the team this year. Not saying things won't still work out for Blue tho.

MU was a legit contender if Blue had stayed so I'm not exactly his biggest fan but agree about Wilson the thing that kills him is he lacks a killer instinct hopefully being the leader changes that this year

It's only natural to feel a little bit slighted by Blue. I imagine he may not be too happy about the decision now either. I still appreciate the fact that he gave us a couple good years and that he gave a bump to our in-state recruiting. I hope it works out for him in the end, for his sake and ours.

Lavin has done a nice job recruiting and already sent one player to the NBA in Mo Harkless (Orlando Magic). JaKarr Sampson and Orlando Sanchez will likely go in 2014 (Sanchez is a senior anyway). In following years you could see Rysheed Jordan (Fr.) and Chris Obekpa (Sph). Always hard to gauge.

But once he started receiving rave reviews fans saw that it also put SJU in a good light as a place that can develop NBA talent again. I think the same could happen with Blue if he makes it, and Ledo with prov for that matter.

I meant title contender not BE contender I mean returning the core of an elite 8 team plus top 10 recruiting class. And the thing is MU already has that going for us we currently have 8 in the NBA and a guy in the DLeague who gets called up every year plus Diener and DJO who both played in the pros but had to international over time. Essentially him leaving hurt more than helped.
