Defensive athleticism is also a talent, and a talent that Creighton is still needing 7 years after joining the BEAST. We’ve led the conference in shooting and even with two of the best shooters on one team we didn’t win a championship. Nova and X are the only two teams that legitimately can claim both, followed by Hall and then Providence... Nova obviously is far above the rest but those schools are the only ones to have won a championship in the last 7 years.

Sorry, claim both what? Shooting and defense? Not challenging, just unsure what you're saying.

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't follow that at all

Yes, defensive talent and shooting talent. I think Creighton will be better at both this year. About mid year we started to focus on defense, which dropped our shooting performance (I think that’s what normally happens, it’s tough to be great at both ends, especially with Creighton swift pace). At the beginning of the year our D was a sieve while we were a scoring machine

UCONN beat Harvard, who is RV in both polls, 86-80. Only 1 of 4 Freshmen (from our top 20 class) played. We lost our secret scrimmage vs Harvard last season so off to a better start!

Providence traveled to Purdue and played in a secret scrimmage today. Reports are the Friars won 60-53 without Nate Watson. Purdue a preseason 4 seed for Lunardi, preseason top 25 in the polls, Pomeroy #7. Encouraging.

CU was at Mizzou. No score reports by Missouri? Unusual.

Heard from a second hand source which was actually probably fourth or fifth hand that Creighton defeated Mizzou. Not sure of any details.

Justin Moore poured in 39 with 9 three’s. JRE was our best player vs USC, and now Moore was the star vs UNC. Perhaps we will be more Frosh-fueled than is normally the case. Don’t know if that is a good or bad thing. But it’s encouraging without 2 of our top 6 we still went toe to toe with a preseason Top 10 team.
Go Nova!
