Preseason First Team All-American Markus Howard entered the game just 30 points away from becoming the program's all-time leading scorer. He passed MU great Jerel McNeal (2005-09) for No. 1 on the school's all-time scoring list with a 3-pointer less than one minute into the second half. Howard finished with 38 points on 11/20 shooting (7/10 3FG).

Is he right at 2,000 points now? I guess I could go find an article...congrats to Markus.

No he's 7 away from being our first men's 2,000pt scorer.

I saw in the Seton Hall box score that Thompson didn't play last night, any reason why?

I watched some of the Seton Hall game and also watched some of the Michigan State game. The Spartans have some nice height but looked slow throughout. I'm a believer that speed beats height and if that is the case, the Pirates may wind up running Sparty out of the Rock next week. The Hall may have too many different weapons for them.

Markus played well last night but I couldn't shake the feeling that they really wanted to get the record out of the way as fast as possible and get on with the season.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I would assume the same reason why he didn't play down the stretch last season - he can't defend.
