Hahaha...my bad I meant the Mountain West (SDSU)...But I do think there are fb schools out there that didn't get what they wanted out of realignment that are thinking of new models that may create opportunities for the BE to consider. Who's to say the hybrid model is dead or can't work. It's a different landscape now. And what about Gonzaga.

I would much rather have Gonzaga than anybody in the MWC. That said, I think we are as far West as we should go.

In my opinion they are a poor institutional fit. The Big East has made it clear that is a consideration. Aside from not being private, they are nowhere near our standard for academics.

limiTed brand recognition (one good season a few yrs ago, not much different than George Mason or Wichita state)
Success all tied to one coach who is not guaranteed to be there if/when they would start play

Need to start somewhere, though. If Dayton and Richmond keep missing the tournament in the next year or two while VCU keeps making it, I don't see how we pass on them. Might be my simple mind, but I see this as SLU's and VCU's to lose.

Yes, but what aughnanure said was accurate. That Final Four run is the only time they have been to the second weekend. Not sure what Ep Jr. was getting at.
