This discussion about which is the "best" conference seems pointless to me.

Is Clemson basketball better off as a result of Syracuse joining the ACC? Will Louisville make Virginia more competitive when they join next year? I fail to see how being int the "best conference" is beneficial to members of the conference other than those who are already considered elite.

To me the key question seems: Which teams are better off?

for me, the answer is that the teams in the Big East are better off now than they were in the old 15-16 team BE. I think that the expanded ACC super conference will also be bad for the health of many of the teams in that conference. Same for Rutgers and Maryland and Rutgers in the jumbo version of the B1G. They better get used to life in the basement. No question that they will all be better off financially in the B1G and the ACC. But the colleges claim that they are non-profits, not in it for the bucks. So, there must be more to this enterprise than just a revenue stream, isn't there?
