Just don't know why they would risk a post season ban unless they know there is more coming, so get the money from tickets until the hammer drops?!?!? Crazy!

Telling the NCAA to F#ck off worked for UNC, but they're in the protected class, we'll see how it works out for Memphis. The days of meekly acquiescing to NCAA punishment are gone now I believe, look no further than Bill Self at Kansas. Feel like a lot of programs are now emboldened and really tired of the NCAA BS, real or imagined.

Nobody is surprised that Memphis is paying players, but I do think it's surprising that the NCAA has already dug up dirt one game into the season. As someone mentioned, Memphis WON'T be protected like UNC, and I'm sure the UNCs/Dukes/Kentuckys aren't thrilled that Memphis was able to snatch the #1 recruiting class out of nowhere with an unproven coach. If Memphis can do that and get away with it, then what's stopping the Daytons, Nebraskas, St. Mary's, TCUs, or Nevadas from doing the same thing next year?

Georgia Tech is the only ACC school banned from the Tournament this year. That should tell you all you need to know about who the NCAA targets. I'd be very surprised if Memphis ends up being eligible for the postseason this year.

So when Memphis gets their post-season ban, the AAC goes from a 2 bid league to just 1 - your UCONN Huskies. Damn shame.

Officially ineligible. Memphis will apply for reinstatement.

Ouch. Rough week for Memphis (and the AAC overall). Memphis knew they were playing with fire, though.
