As far as BU goes, they look really good but everyone can agree they've exceeded expectations....I contend that they have snuck up on some people in the most classic fashion, but now that they're ranked, that little edge is gone. The Purdue game will be an excellent gauge of how "for real" they are and expose them to the kind of physicality they will see in conference. Hey, I hope they beat the Boilers just from a BE standpoint...AND down the line they beat the hell out of Nova twice. That way your prediction will be really accurate.

We just got our 7'1" center back to dressing, so we shall see if we've peaked, or are just starting to hit our stride. Sour grapes much?

butler was impressive in coming back. i was more impressed with them after the game then before it tbh. just can't spot a good team that lead on the road, but they outplayed baylor most of the game outside that start

Butler D is impressive. I think they are the odds on favorite in the BE this year. Crazy how off the coaches were on the preseason predictions.

I thought depaul would surprise (although not to this extent), but i didn't see Butler coming at all. They added basically no one to a team that finished 8th. i don't blame the coaches for that one

I don't see how anyone who's actually watched Butler for more than a couple games this year thinks they're not for real. By that I mean challenging for the RS BE crown real. I too, also didn't see this level of improvement coming, but I guess having pretty much everyone back and a 2nd year in the same system does wonders.

They play hard, tough, and smart. They're much more disciplined and organized this year. Now that's not to say they're going to wow you with overwhelming talent or dazzle you with flashy play, they just win baby.

Baylor @Baylor is an extremely tough out, they got Butler(player), Teague, plus a couple other guys that can go off at anytime. Add that to the 2 dudes that pretty much just board, they're one of the top O rebounding teams in the country and you get a very dangerous tourney team.

Derrik Smits. Not going to be a wow type of player, but will give us a post presents and a competent senior back up to Nze and Golden. Mostly the depth factor will be huge so that we can stay big if we want to instead of going small when Nze or Golden need a break. ;)

Xuper's shorts are all wadded up because Butler is ranked ahead of his beloved Muskies.

Go Butler. Go Blue Demons.

Man, someone's salty about the Dawgs. Butler has beat Minnesota, Mizzou, Stanford, Ole Miss, Florida, (and lost by 1 at #11 Baylor). But we have to wait until the Purdue game to see if they are for real? Is that because the previous 10 games didn't tell you what you wanted to hear?

Just for comparison
- Butler beat Mizzou (on a "neutral" court in KC) by 11. (Xavier beat them by 5 at home).
- Butler beat Florida by 14 at home. (Xavier lost to them by 5 on a neutral court).

Not saying Butler is winning the Big East this year. And I definitely don't blame anyone for projecting them around 8th in the BE to start the season. But to think they are the same that team people thought they were before the season is basically burying your head in the sand.

Ranked? We’re only 10 games into the season and it’s pretty much insignificant this early but hey, having Butler join us doesn’t chaff my ass in the least. I just hope they can stay ranked until we get a chance to pound on them....the selection committee loves W’s vs ranked opponents.
